Government spending is and has always been the problem in New York State and on the federal level.

Alleged car thief, a member of the notorious MS-13 street gang, arrested and released due to cashless bail, was arrested hours later accused of stealing another car.  (I wonder how long before all NYS drivers will have to pay higher car insurance rates should this madness continue.)  Make your voice heard; sign our petition here.

Rep. Elise Stefanik’s Appointment as
Trump 2020 New York State Chairwoman

January 15, 2020

“Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is no longer a rising star — she is a fixed and glowing firmament in today’s political sky. President Trump and his team could not have chosen a better person to lead 2020 re-election efforts here in New York. The Conservative Party stands ready to work with the congressman in every corner of the state to extoll the many Trump Administration successes and to support the President’s deserved re-election.”

Governor Cuomo is giving New Yorkers lip service on the Criminal Justice problem while unwaveringly standing with progressives.

And it continues:  New York’s utter criminal justice madness.  Bob McManus has an excellent article in today’s New York Post taking Governor Cuomo to task regarding the “get-out-of-jail-free” mess but doesn’t stop with Governor Cuomo.  McManus writes “Certainly, as it is becoming increasingly clear, Albany doesn’t care.”  He then mentions how Speaker Heastie and Senate Leader Stewart-Cousins have no real desire to address the problem.  All the more reason for you and everyone you know sign our petition.  Governor Cuomo and the members of the legislature have to know that people are truly concerned about cashless bail and the outrageous new 15-day discovery mandate.  We must stand together, for rest assured, the progressives that pushed this disgraceful bill are and pushing back.  If, for one minute one thinks this is not the democrat controlled legislature, think again.

Another problem we face in New York State; Man charged in murder of 92-year-old Queens woman in country illegally: Officials.  Why wasn’t ICE there to detain/deport him?  Sanctuary cities – another progressive ideal that puts New Yorkers in harms way.  Advocates call on state lawmakers to outlaw ICE arrests at courthouses.  If a person does not respect the rule of law for entry, why would anyone believe that they will respect any of the laws of the country they entered?

When did the democratic party forget the battle cry of James Carvell: It’s the economy, S****d?  We have to adopt, It’s the spending, Gov. Cuomo, that is driving residents to other states.  New York spends twice as much as Florida to keep things running.

The state is over $6 billion in debt, but that doesn’t concern Governor Cuomo as he announces the NYS flag should be changed.  New York’s flag has been the same for a century. Why Andrew Cuomo wants to change it.  Maybe he is embarrassed that NY’s motto is Excelsior – translation:  ever upward and our population has been ever downward since his election to the executive chamber.

Trump campaign names Elise Stefanik, five others honorary NY chairs; and Congresswoman Stefanik is speaking at CPPAC!  Have you registered yet?  Click here to register on line.

Is anyone surprised that Congressmen Schiff and Nadler are named by Speaker Pelosi as 2 of the 7 house managers named?  Does anyone believe they will be fair?  Or able to make a better case when presenting the opening statements? Neither do we.

While the Democrats play the Impeachment game, President Donald J. Trump signs a new trade agreement with China.  One thing is certain, President Trump will not hesitate to make China keep their end of the negotiations.

Chairman Kassar’s wrap up includes the State of the State, President Trump and the Middle East as well as Criminal Justice Reform

State of the State Address

Governor Cuomo gave his annual State of the State address Tuesday and as we feared, we are in for another long year

The Governors perennial window dressing ignored that, for much of New York, there’s nothing left in the store. Families are leaving in record numbers because the state is becoming more and more unaffordable, with crippling taxes making it harder and harder to get ahead.

Staring down the barrel of a $6 billion budget deficit, Governor Cuomo is proposing billions in new spending while Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie proposes new taxes. Thing’s don’t get better for small business owners or small property owners as the Democratic State Legislature has made the ability to improve existing properties or build additional ones, much more difficult.

To add injury to insult, all common sense appears to be lost as violent criminals and anti-Semites are being released onto the street without bail hours after committing heinous crimes.

New York is a rudderless ship taking on water under Democratic leadership. It will take all of us to ensure a mutiny of common sense leadership is brought back to New York State.

Iran Escalates Conflict in Middle East

Last week, President Trump drew his red line in the sand and enforced it when he ordered the air strike that killed Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani, a terrorist directly responsible for over 600 American casualties. Soleimani was a murderous thug that posed a direct threat to the United States and the Middle East.

In response to the attack that killed Soleimani, Iran launched 12 missiles on bases used by U.S. troops in Iraq. Thankfully, no American lives were lost in the attack.

“We didn’t start it”, President Trump said. “They started it by killing one of our people and wounding badly other of our people. So that you call retribution.”

Iran would be smart to heed the warning of the President and numerous other military officials. It is clear President Trump is a man of his word when he says he will protect Americans at all costs.

Thursday, we learned the Iranian’s may have another issue. During Tuesdays attack, a Ukrainian passenger plane carrying 176 crashed shortly after takeoff. Now, intelligence reports from both the United States and Canada, suggest the airliner was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile. Iranian officials have refused to turn over the black box recordings to investigators.

Democratic Sponsored Bail Reform is Massive Failure in First Week

Senate and Assembly Democrats touted the importance and significance of their bail and discovery reform legislation over the course of the last year. In the ten days since the new law took effect, they have failed miserably while putting law abiding citizens in harm.

Conveniently enough, Governor Cuomo omitted everything regarding bail reform from his State of the State address, while Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie (D-Bronx) disinvited New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio from a reception following the State of the State due to his suggestion that State Democrats re-visit their bail reform legislation.

Republicans from across the Senate and Assembly, including a small number of Democrats, have asked their leaders to consider making changes to the law. Recent comments from Senate Majority Leader Andrew Stewart-Cousins and the actions of Speaker Heastie, make it very clear Democrats are not interested in revising the law.

Since January 1, countless career criminals and violent offenders have been released from jail including Paul Barbaritano, who choked & stabbed a woman to death and admitted to the crime. State Democrats consider this a “non-violent crime”. Thursday, we learned Zachary Gulini would be released from prison this week. Gulini, the owner of a 10-year criminal history, is a violent sex offender who also failed to register as an offender.

We have much to be concerned about this legislative season. I strongly urge you to make sure your local elections matter in 2020.

Cuomo dodges bail-reform issues in State of the State address.   The hottest topic in New York State and Gov. Cuomo can’t find the words to talk about it in the State of the State?  The man only hears progressive voices who kiss his ring; those who dare to have a differing view are told they have no place in New York.  Believe me, he will only give the groundswell of people calling for changes in the Criminal Justice Reform bill lip service…until time runs out.  Tell the Governor: Government’s responsibility is to protect her citizens:  Sign our petition here.

Sheriff Cites Recidivism in Release of Accused Under Bail Reform Laws.

Surprisingly, not everyone agrees that the Criminal Justice Reform is a dangerous new law, here is the opinion of an esteemed former judge.  I fail to see her reasoning on the discovery portion of the bill. How is anyone, especially victims and/or witnesses safer when the alleged criminal is given the phone number, including a cell phone number, the exact address of the victim and/or witness within 15 days when they have be released on cashless bail?  If the crime took place in the home of the victim, it has to remain exactly as it was until the alleged perpetrator can examine the premises.  Sign our petition today.  Have your family and friends sign it as well.  Thank you for taking a stand against this insanity.

Cuomo Details Proposal for New Domestic Terrorism Criminal Charge to NY Penal Law.   Unfortunately, the hate crimes that are now on the books are not applied evenly and everyone should be concerned that another law will not change the problem.  The state has to do more to eliminate the “need” for more hate crime legislation and much more to help the mentally unstable people who lash out on innocent people.  There are many parts to the growing problem, adding another law will do absolutely nothing to prevent domestic terrorism other than making politicians feel like they accomplished something.

Statement by New York Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar on Governor Andrew Cuomo’s State of the State Address

“Families are leaving New York in droves because it’s too hard to get ahead here, and everybody knows it. That’s the indisputable state of the State in January 2020 — I dare Governor Cuomo to deny it.

“His perennial window dressing ignores that, for much of New York, there’s nothing left in the store. We’ve been hollowed out by taxes, regulation, bureaucratic mismanagement, and government corruption.

“New York needs to move in a bold new direction, but Governor Cuomo and the Democratic Senate and Assembly are driving us ever deeper into the hole they’ve created. The State faces a $6 billion budget deficit, and the Governor is proposing billions in new spending. That’s not serious leadership.

“We pay the highest taxes in America — we’re watching whole swaths of the population fleeing — and Democrats in the Legislature are again proposing new taxes. Hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers need safe, affordable housing, and the Democrat-led Legislature is making it near impossible for small landlords and developers to improve existing properties or build additional ones. In whose mind is that rational?

“We see the loss of common sense in criminal justice, too, with vicious criminals and anti-Semites being released onto the streets without bail — as violent crime soars in our cities. We shudder at the moral decay of a governor who, against the will of his own father, wants to commercialize child bearing.

“New York is a rudderless ship taking on water under total Democratic leadership. Mark my words: a mutiny of common sense is coming.”

Kudos to our military and President Donald J. Trump.  From our President’s address this morning “As long as I’m president of the United States, Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Good morning. I’m pleased to inform you the American people should be extremely grateful and happy. No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime. We suffered no casualties. All of our soldiers are safe and only minimal damage was sustained at our military bases.”

Our daily blog is back!  We hope you all had a joyful holiday season and the New Year brings you and yours good health, more wealth (less taxes), happiness and peace.

Below are some of the articles we found over the holidays that you may have missed and thought that now that things are getting back to normal – Impeachment is still on the radar, turmoil is still rampant in the Middle East, the Democrats running for president still want more of you money to pay for their ideals – you may have time to review the news of the last two weeks.  All told, 2020 brings a lot of hope because as hard as it may seem at times, we are so very privileged to live in a country that feeds the world, strives to keep peace and lets each of her citizens espouse their beliefs without fear of being hauled off and never seen again.

Brooklyn, NY –“New York has lost all touch with reality: An illegal immigrant, illegally behind the wheel of a car, illegally flees the scene of a crime after killing a 35-year-old Rockland County mother of three on Christmas Eve with a car he shouldn’t have been driving, and, then, after finally being arrested, he is released — without bail!

“How is that remotely possible?

“The person who committed this horrendous crime, is by definition a risk of flight. Laws clearly mean nothing to him. He should be in a federal lockup right now. Isn’t that screamingly obvious?

“New Yorkers should pray for the victim and her children — and start questioning representatives in Albany who allowed this to happen.  In fact, New Yorkers should demand that cashless bail be repealed; it is utter madness, that the person who killed an innocent mother of three be released because the democrat controlled legislature passed cashless bail.  ”

Chairman Kassar recaps 2019, talks about the Impeachment and invites you to our 53rd annual CPPAC in his weekly wrap-up.

Recapping 2019

It has been my honor to serve as Chairman of the New York State Conservative Party for the past 10 months. Filling the shoes of Mike Long is certainly no easy task, but I take your trust in me to carry out these duties seriously. We have taken the steps necessary to continue growing the party and making sure our message is delivered to voters throughout New York State.

We have enhanced our social media operation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. By doing so, we have added over 1,000 followers in the calendar year 2019. In today’s information consuming world, it is imperative we remain relevant on platforms that are being used to distribute information. However, unlike some fake news media, our goal is to make sure we are providing accurate news, information and updates!

We have been proactive in our attempt to reach more young people and different ethnic groups. We held very successful forums with 3 conservative minded political commentators in Manhattan and Peekskill this summer, while working with leaders in the Asian community to deliver our message to many thousands of New Yorkers using the popular texting service, We Chat.

I promised I would take the show on the road, and we have done just that. Since being elected, I have visited nearly 30 counties across our great state. We have held press conferences on the Green Light Law in Syracuse, hydrofracking in Binghamton, driver’s licenses in Buffalo, and Sanctuary Cities in Westchester. As we enter the new year, I look forward to holdings more events throughout New York State.

Finally, we filed a lawsuit in the state Supreme Court to preserve our fusion voting rights. Governor Cuomo, in an attempt to get back at political rivals, sought to strip New Yorker’s of their constitutional right to vote for candidates on third party lines. However, he vastly underestimated the fight in the Conservative Party, and we took quick action to see to it that he, and his non-elected commission, never strip New Yorker’s of their choice at the ballot box.

House Democrats Officially reject the Will of The People

In their last-ditch effort to stop the President from winning re-election in 2020, the U.S. House of Representatives Democrats voted on and passed two Articles of Impeachment Wednesday in a near partisan vote. Only two Democrats voted against both articles: Rep. Collin Peterson (MN), and Rep. Jeff Van Drew (NJ) who went a step further in rejecting the impeachment scam when he left the Democratic party and enrolled as a Republican.

Hours after celebrating their vote to impeach the President, Speaker Pelosi continued the games when she was non-committal to sending the Articles of Impeachment to the Republican-held Senate. Joining in on the efforts of Speaker Pelosi to slow down the Senates intention to work fast dismissing the Articles of Impeachment, was New York’s own, Senator Charles Schumer.

We remain at an impasse, because my friend, the Democratic leader, continues to demand a new and different set of rules for President Trump,” McConnell said Thursday. “He wants to break from the unanimous bipartisan precedent and force an all our nothing approach.”

As Democrats continue this nearly four-year charade to remove a dually elected President from office, they ignore the job they were sent to Washington D.C. to do on behalf of the people. I hope you will all join me in calling Congress to get back to work!

CCPAC 2020

We are just over a month away from our 53rd  annual CCPAC meeting in Latham, NY. We are very excited to welcome an impressive panel of speakers including: John Brabender, Consultant to the Vice President, John McLaughlin, pollster to the President, Rep. Elise Stefanik, Morgan Zegers, founder of Young Americans Against Socialism, along with many other great guests.

The annual meeting is a great time to network with like-minded, common sense, Conservative thinkers. Last year we heard from many attendees how much they enjoyed the two-day event and we plan on making this a memorable conference with many distinguished guests.

Please click here to register.  We look forward to seeing you in January!
