New Poll Shows How Many Americans Want Abortion Legal Up Until Birth,  This is a Townhall.com VIP article, so I am not sure if you can access it.  The bottom line is that “55 percent of voters said they oppose the Supreme Court’s decisions to overturn Roe. This is compared to 45 percent of respondents who support the Court’s decision.”  However, “the poll delved into specific abortion restrictions. Broken down, 10 percent of respondents said that their state should allow abortion up to 9 months of pregnancy. Eighteen percent said 23 weeks. Twenty-three percent said 15 weeks. Twelve percent said up to six weeks. The largest chunk, 37 percent, said “only in cases of rape and incest.”  “… Combining the six-week limit, the 15-week limit and those who only allow abortion due to rape and incest is 72 percent of respondents.” Democrats think this is a winning issue; they also believe if we don’t go Green within 9 years, we won’t be able to save earth.

Groups Join Forces Once Again to Bring Democrats to Court & Stop Their Trampling of New Yorkers’ Rights 

New York–July 7th…New York Republican Party Chairman Nick Langworthy today announced that the Party will join forces with New York Conservative Party Chairman Jerry Kassar to build a coalition to challenge Kathy Hochul & Democrats’ unconstitutional gun law signed into law last Friday. Chairmen Langworthy and Kassar just recently joined forces to successfully block Democrats’ illegal gerrymander and their law allowing foreign citizens to vote in our elections.

Hochul and legislative Democrats convened a special session last Friday to pass and sign into law legislation that severely limits New Yorkers’ ability to obtain a concealed carry permit following the Supreme Court’s decision striking down New York’s law that was in violation of the Second Amendment. Chairman Langworthy blasted the law as another gross violation of New Yorkers’ rights and vowed to challenge it in court, just as he has successfully done on other issues. 

“The moment Democrats passed this outrageous bill, I vowed to fight them in court,” said NYGOP Chairman Langworthy. “We have been working the phones and talking to legal experts to build a coalition and bring a winning case that will stop this law in its tracks. Chairman Kassar has been a true partner with us and I’m proud to be joining forces with him again to ensure we protect New Yorkers’ constitutional rights.”

“We have proven that we will use every resource at our disposal to fight Democrats in court and win,” said New York Conservative Party Chairman Jerry Kassar. “One-Party rule has emboldened Democrats to trample over the constitution and rule of law to enact their radical agenda. We believe that this law will be struck down by the courts and the Conservative Party is proud to once again lead this effort with Chairman Langworthy.”

“Thank you to Chairmen Langworthy and Kassar for taking action to protect our Second Amendment rights and stopping this unconstitutional law,” said Tom King, Chairman of the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association. “The Supreme Court ruled decisively on this issue and Democrats once again showed complete disregard for New Yorkers’ rights and the rule of law. “We have also been pulling together legal resources and we are 100% behind their efforts to challenge this law in court.”

New York Moves to Bolster Abortion Access, Strengthen ‘Affirmative Action’.  Governor Kathy Hochul showed she has more chutzpah than Cuomo, Paterson and Spitzer put together when she added this bill to the Special Session of June 30.  It wasn’t enough that she called Legislators back just 7 days after SCOTUS overturned New York’s concealed carry law, in order to pass legislation that would limit the ability to obtain an open carry law…only enough time to have a knee-jerk reaction to the decision by SCOTUS, she had to add an “equal rights” proposal to change the New York Constitution, with little to no time to truly discuss and debate the issue.  Unfortunately, the legislators fell for Hochul’s power grab, why wouldn’t they, and passed it with 14 republicans voting for it.  Sad commentary on those who hold the title of public servant, who were not elected to shove legislation through with out the public having a say.  Fortunately, this is a proposed Constitutional Amendment and has to be passed by a separately elected legislature (All are up for election this year, so it has to pass in 2023,) and if it does, the voting public will have the final say. Happy 246th Birthday America

Former Secretary of State writes in today’s New York Post:  A new message of hope & unity for this July 4th — Through it all, the American Dream endures

Two-hundred forty-six years ago, 13 colonies boldly declared their independence. They did so in opposition to the British empire, which at the time possessed the greatest military power on Earth. The reasons for this declaration were not spurious, and our Founders did not take the consequences of their decision lightly. Benjamin Franklin said as the  Declaration of Independence  was signed that “we must all hang together, or most assuredly, we will all hang separately.” Such were the stakes of this monumental moment in history.

Our forebears were willing to risk everything for a dream. A dream of freedom and of opportunity. A dream that says no matter where you come from, no matter what your background is, if you work hard and live honestly and justly, you can succeed. This is the American Dream.

Our tribulations

Today this dream may seem less attainable. Somewhat because of real problems: skyrocketing gas prices and runaway inflation. But somewhat, too, because of false narratives: America is racist, or America is in decline or government dependency is better than self-reliance.

Yes, things are tough today. Empty food shelves are appearing in grocery stores for the first time in decades. The ever-increasing price for families to put food on their tables and gas in their cars is an acute challenge faced by all Americans, in every corner of our republic. Indeed, these problems are hitting our working and middle-class families harder than anyone — this is likely the most expensive Fourth of July cookout any family in America has experienced in their lifetime. For many, the American Dream now may seem to have lost its luster.

In times of triumph and trial, Americans have always and will always find ways to come together. Not divided by race or gender or class or region; but as a single, indivisible people devoted to the common good of this nation we love. We can do this today by remembering what makes America exceptional and dedicate ourselves, once more, to safeguarding the enduring principles upon which it was founded. If we can do this, we will soon find the American Dream not only restored but full of greater promise than ever before.

When I think of the American Dream, I think of my Grandma Grace and Grandpa Earl. They married each other at 6:30 in the morning because Earl didn’t want to be late for work. Grandma Grace couldn’t afford to be late, either — she served as PTA president four times, led multiple Girl Scout troops, was a precinct committeewoman and made most of the clothes worn by their 10 children. Each was dedicated to serving the community they lived in, and to providing for the family they had built together. They upheld this commitment even in the harshest times in our nation’s history. Such are the kinds of people upon which the country we have inherited was built: people defined by their ethic of hard work, self-sufficiency and, above all, an abiding love for those they held dear.

This is the American Dream. It’s not something handed to us, as a gift, by a government. It is something we alone can create and realize, and we can only do so in a nation that safeguards the God-given freedoms with which our Creator has blessed us.

Our triumphs

Let us not forget the trials we have overcome. From two world wars, to devastating terrorist attacks, to a global pandemic. Through it all, Americans prevailed. We won those wars. We rose from the ashes of 9/11. During the dark days of COVID, churches stayed open to give hope to the isolated, sick and poor in spirit, families homeschooled their children when schools turned them away, and many businesses fought their way back from the brink of bankruptcy. The American people are indeed exceptional, and this becomes most evident when we are tested.

America needs a new message. Not one of defeat and decline, but one of vital optimism, grounded in the timeless, sacred principles of our nation: that we are all created equal, that we are “endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” These words, penned by Thomas Jefferson before he would serve as America’s first secretary of state, are alive in the hearts of every American today, despite the challenges before us. They abided in me as I was sworn in as America’s 70th secretary of state and director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and before when I served in Congress and the Army.

On July 4, 1863, the Union Army stood triumphant at Gettysburg, but at a great and bloody cost. At no time in history has our nation been so divided, or our future so uncertain. President Abraham Lincoln came to that great battlefield and called upon his countrymen to dedicate themselves so that “this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom, and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

This exhortation echoes down generations, and America will answer it today, just as we always have. May God bless you, your families, and the United States of America on our Independence Day.

Happy Independence Day

This weekend we celebrate the most important date in American history—July 4th.  A significant day in every American’s life. Through the parades, cookouts, and fireworks, America gathers to commemorate its heroes and celebrate our freedoms.

Abraham Lincoln once said “I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him” these words remain true and if you’re like me, you find yourself fortunate to be born in a country that provides its citizens with inalienable rights—such as freedom of speech, or the opportunity to fight for Conservative values—such as the right to life. For these reasons, and many more, I am proud to pledge allegiance to the United States of America.

It is imperative we never allow these freedoms to perish. We must take personal responsibility, stand up for what is right, what is moral and defend our basic liberties from those who wish to undo our way of life by telling us how we should live or think.

I wish you all a safe and Happy 4th of July with your family and friends. As you celebrate our independence, please take a moment to say a prayer for all those who made this weekend possible.

Yesterday, state legislators were rushed to Albany for a special session — at considerable expense to taxpayers — only to learn that Mrs. Hochul had no legislation prepared for them to consider. Now, Mrs. Hochul is seeking to rationalize calling legislators back by pushing half-considered, knee-jerk measures that deserve robust debate, not the rushed passage of a PR stunt.

Justices’ Home Addresses Blasted on Social Media With Zero Consequences.

Last week ended on a great note for those of us who cherish our US Constitution and the rule of law.  For almost 50 years, the Conservative Party, worked to have the decision that granted women the right to abort their babies reversed as we believed there was nothing in the US Constitution that mentioned, let alone allowed, an abortion.  Six US Justices agreed on Friday!  What saddens me personally is the women marching in the streets with hangers…are they that out of touch with the real world?  They shout out, my body, my right…yes you control your body; perhaps a little more controlling of your body would prevent your conceiving another totally separate body who has a right to life.  In 2022, there is absolutely no reason for a woman to become pregnant, unless they are too irresponsible to prevent it knowing they can abort a precious unborn life.

Six Supreme Court Justices also acknowledged, last week, that New York’s archaic concealed weapons was also not supportive of our US Constitution; another common-sense decision by those who acknowledge that the US Constitution was written by men who valued the lives of those who were forming a government like no other:  one that guaranteed its people life, liberty and freedom, and made its people responsible for maintaining their vision and values.

Lately, too many of the descendants of the visionaries who wrote our Constitution, are failing to understand the responsibilities it bestows on us.  They throw temper tantrums when reminded we are a Republic and we solve our differences at the polls; not by destroying property, threatening those who they do not agree with or refusing to debate ideas as an adult. Our Founding Fathers believed that government exists to perform only those services that the people cannot provide for themselves; my how that has changed with progressives at the helm.  But we can, and must, reverse course beginning right now.  Tomorrow is primary day in NYS.  Republicans (and Democrats) have a choice; Conservatives already cast their lot with the Zeldin/Esposito ticket (we are urging Republicans to do the same) because they understand the role of government.

New York preparing to roll out welcome mat for out-of-state abortion seekers.  “State Attorney General Letitia James promised last month to set aside $50 million to help women seeking abortions. Part of those funds will be used for women arriving in New York from other states where the procedures are illegal. ´ “Mayor Eric Adams welcomed women seeking abortions to New York City, where the city has budgeted $250,000 a year for abortions since 2019.”  “On Friday, after the decision was announced, Gov. Kathy Hochul declared the state “a safe harbor” for women seeking abortions. Hochul announced an advertising campaign and new additions to a website that would help women in New York and throughout the country obtain information about abortions.”  “This is repulsive at every level,” Hochul said. New York has no income other than the taxes people pay; payroll taxes, sales taxes, real estate taxes, gasoline taxes, and a myriad of other taxes.  New York’s government is making you pay for people to come to New York to have an abortion, if their home state has chosen to save the innocent unborn life.  Is this what you want your tax dollars to pay for?  The current administration obviously wants to make New York the abortion capitol of the United States, but we should be able to prevent our hard-earned dollars from being used.   What if the company they work for is paying for their travel etc., will any effort be made to prevent “double-dipping” or will this just be another government boondoggle that rips taxpayers’ money from their wallets?

Gov. Hochul calls for Extraordinary Session to thwart the US Supreme Court’s decision on NY’s concealed weapon ruling.  The Democrats who control New York stuck their collective thumb in the eyes of their constituents, when the redistricting process refused to adhere to the NY Constitution after voters chose to have an Independent Body draw the new legislative lines.  On Thursday, Gov. Hochul and her cohorts plan on passing legislation to override the Supreme Court 6-3 decision on what is now the unconstitutional concealed weapon ban in New York state.   The one-party rule in New York State proves Lord Acton’s famous quote is correct: “Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” How busy could New York lawmakers get responding to court rulings?

Today is only Monday and New Yorkers have two cases that are a win for the Conservative Cause.  Supreme Court Lets High-School Football Coach Kneel in Prayer.  Religious freedom continues to ring loudly!  Like last week, the same three Justices were dissenter’s:  Justices Breyer, Kagan, and Sotomayer.

The other win New Yorkers had in court is also a huge win for our republic:  New York judge rules law allowing non-citizens to vote is unconstitutional. Passed by the NY City Council last December, but not signed into law by either former Mayor de Blasio or current Mayor Adams, it would have allowed up to 1 million non-citizens the right to vote in NYC elections.  “The city’s law department, which could challenge the ruling in a higher state court, said the city was evaluating its options.”  As the Judge noted in his decision, “the law violated the state constitution, which says that “[e]very citizen” is entitled to vote.” Read Chairman Kassar’s statement here.

Brooklyn, NY – “As a plaintiff in this case, and as Chairman of the New York State Conservative Party, I congratulate the New York State Supreme Court on today’s wise decision. Voting in this country is a right logically reserved for citizens.

“This decision puts a check on a radical New York City Council that had hoped to establish a precedent for non-citizen voting across New York State. Such an action would have undermined the power of citizens to elect representatives of their choosing.

“In its decision, the Court applied common sense, something New York progressive Democrats have long forgotten how to use. This is a major victory for New York voters of all parties. It’s a victory for reason over a woke ideology that is damaging our state.”

Roe v. Wade Overturned!

“Roe v. Wade was a constitutionally flawed decision that never should have been issued.”  And today it was overturned.  The Conservative Party has been seeking this decision since the day it became the law, January 22, 1973.  We applaud Justice Alito, Chief Justice Roberts, Justice Thomas, Justice Gorsuch, Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Coney Barrett who upheld the United States Constitution with today’s historic decision.  Read my full statement here.

Former VP Pence Wows Conservative Party

Former Vice-President Mike Pence returned to a Conservative Party event on Wednesday evening and the crowed room responded to his remarks with thunderous applause, especially when he restated his strong support for the next Governor of New York State, Lee Zeldin.  Mr. Pence reminded those in the room how America, under the Biden Administration, has lost some of her standing in the free world, due to the erroneous mistakes of the current administration from our embarrassing exodus from Afghanistan to the disastrous flooding of ill-legal immigrants on our southern border and record high inflation.  His remarks stressed the importance of taking back the House and Senate in the upcoming November elections in an effort to end the progressive hold on the White House and noted that it is up to the voters across our great nation that only they can retake control in November and reminded us that while endorsements, editorial support and social media are all important for candidates, the most important conveyor of support is word of mouth…so call, text or email your family and let them know who you support.  Thank you for all you do to support the Conservative Party of New York State.

Tuesday, June 28 is Primary Day

The first step in Saving our State begins on Tuesday, when Republicans vote for Lee Zeldin in the Republican Primary.  (The Conservative Party does not have a primary and is proud to support Lee Zeldin, Allison Esposito, Lt. Gov. candidate, Michael Henry for Attorney General, Paul Rodriquez for NYS Comptroller and Joe Pinion for US Senate.) It is important that you use Mr. Pence’s advice about word of mouth being the best way to show support for Lee Zeldin.  A united Republican-Conservative candidate is the best chance of defeating the progressive hold the current administration has on New Yorkers.  Lee Zeldin will fire DA Alvin Bragg on day one and has committed to making New York safe again.  The New York Post editorial of June 16, 2022 said it best:  Lee Zeldin is the best bet for governor to save New York.  Take the first step on Tuesday to help make this happen.

SCOTUS Strikes Down NY’s Archaic Concealed Carry Gun Law

The National Review writes that “the Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that New York’s “proper-cause” requirement to obtain a concealed-carry license is unconstitutional as it violates ordinary citizens’ Second Amendment rights.”  The 6-3 decision was written by Justice Clarence Thomas who used the 2nd and 14th Amendments and the decision in District of Columbia vs Heller as a basis to reject New York’s 1913 law that limited carrying concealed guns outside the home.  Justice Thomas noted “We know of no other constitutional right that an individual may exercise only after demonstrating to government officers some special need.”  Kudos to Justice Thomas, Chief Justice Roberts, Justice Alito, Justice Gorsuch, Justice Kavanaugh and Justice Coney Barrett.  You can read my statement here.
