“Government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it”-Ronald Reagan
Will President Obama continue to campaign for Hillary when she makes statements like this? There is no real friendship between the two of them and as long as she continues to jab our thin-skinned president one has to wonder how long he will stand by his woman.
Maureen Dowd, writes this in the NY Times: “Hillary willfully put herself above the rules — again — and a president, campaign and party are all left twisting themselves into pretzels defending her.” How does a woman write this and still believe she should be president? Her column ends with “The Clintons work hard but don’t play by the rules. Imagine them in the White House with the benefit of low expectations.” So Americans should put a woman in the White House knowing full well she does not play by the rules — yet demands that everyone else does — and think that she will bring honor to the White House. Electing Hillary will bring us closer to life in Panem.
Hillary Clinton’s press conference phobia. Would you believe the author states in the article that”She’s just too damn professional for her own good.” I guess he didn’t watch the FBI presser on Hillary’s non-indictment. But he does go on to say “But Clinton’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the mundanity of a press conference speaks to a psychological weakness that is almost unprecedented in modern American politics.” Psychological weakness, extremely carelessness, untrustworthy…just some of the words used to describe the woman running for president of the greatest country in the world.
The Washington Post reminds us of an earlier near miss of a Hillary indictment.
The Washington Free Beacon has an excerpt from Heather MacDonald’s new book, “The War on Cops: How the New Attack on Law and Order Makes Everyone Less Safe.” You can read it here.
The week began celebrating America’s birthday and all the reasons why America is still the beacon to freedom. The week ends on grief —the unfortunate deaths of two men by police officers and the revenge carnage of five innocent police officers gunned down while on duty protecting people exercising their right to protest. America mourns again and our president while stating “there is no possible justification for these kinds of attacks or any violence against law enforcement” makes it political by ending his statement with this “We also know that when people are armed with powerful weapons, unfortunately it makes attacks like these more deadly and more tragic and in the days ahead we’re going to consider those realities as well.” A night of heartbreak brings resolve: Back the Blue.
We also learned yesterday that Hillary Clinton let individuals without security clearance have access to her non-secured server. Comey also noted that “I don’t think that our investigation established that she was actually particularly sophisticated with respect to classified information, and the levels, and the treatment.” This begs the question — how can a woman who was First Lady for eight years, a US Senator for eight years, Secretary of State for 4 years, not be particularly sophisticated with respect to classified information and still become the leader of the free world? Our second question gives you the opportunity to give your thoughts on this.
Noted economist, Larry Kudlow, lets us know Hillary has no growth plan for “lousy economy”
“Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information.
For example, seven e-mail chains concern matters that were classified at the Top Secret/Special Access Program level when they were sent and received. These chains involved Secretary Clinton both sending e-mails about those matters and receiving e-mails from others about the same matters. There is evidence to support a conclusion that any reasonable person in Secretary Clinton’s position, or in the position of those government employees with whom she was corresponding about these matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. In addition to this highly sensitive information, we also found information that was properly classified as Secret by the U.S. Intelligence Community at the time it was discussed on e-mail (that is, excluding the later “up-classified” e-mails).
None of these e-mails should have been on any kind of unclassified system, but their presence is especially concerning because all of these e-mails were housed on unclassified personal servers not even supported by full-time security staff, like those found at Departments and Agencies of the U.S. Government—or even with a commercial service like Gmail.”
Here is what the Washington Times thinks of Director Comey’s statement. “He said that shouldn’t be seen as a green light to others — indeed, he said those who behave like Mrs. Clinton often face administrative sanctions from their employers, or lose security privileges. But with Mrs. Clinton out of office now, neither of those alternatives is available in her case.”
The really sad part is that her followers don’t care. They will support Hillary and see her as a victim of the vast right-ring media conspiracy rather than a woman so careless she endangers the safety of American citizens. Hillary’s covetous desire to be president is all that matters to her and her inner circle; her lack of judgement in getting there is a wake-up call to all American’s. She will stop at nothing to attain her dream and today the FBI Director gave her carte blanche to pursue it.
Our Weekly Wrap-Up is a day early this week thanks to the July 4th holiday. With summer in full swing, what are you most grateful for as an American right now? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.
The Republican Party’s “blue-collar heroes” are finding themselves in much agreement with Donald Trump and his supporters – and as I said this week Trump could be in a position to turn things around for the GOP here in New York. And this week’s victories by anti-establishment candidates is a good sign of what’s ahead.
This year’s election is important, because right now religious liberty, the right to life and the Second Amendment (along with due process) are just a few of the constitutional principles that are under assault by the Left as we celebrate the 4th of July. A bill that could let liberals trample free speech was just approved here in New York.
Which of our liberties do you believe is most threatened on this Independence Day? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.
The new Benghazi report is out – you can read the full report here.
The Washington Examiner has the nine biggest Benghazi committee discoveries.
It’s clear to anyone willing to take a reasonable look at the report that Hillary Clinton was part of a massive deception, and put her own ambitions above the law.
It’s funny to see Democrats griping about the price tag of the Benghazi investigation – who knew liberals were capable of worrying about how much government costs? If the Democrats are suddenly budget conscious, the Weekly Standard has a list of ten government spending sprees that cost more than the Benghazi investigation.
The NRA has released a powerful ad against Hillary Clinton, featuring a Benghazi hero.
The terrorist attacks continue worldwide, and the Obama Administration continues to prove that it is incapable of understanding the problem.
There were already calls for Attorney General Loretta Lynch to resign after her ridiculously naïve claim that “love” is the best weapon against terrorism – and now she has further undermined the integrity of the Department of Justice by holding a secret meeting with Bill Clinton as Hillary is under investigation by the FBI.
According to the Attorney General, Clinton went out of his way to wait for her arrival in Phoenix and make his way to her private jet simply to talk about grandchildren and golf. As Red State reports, the meeting is a violation of Department of Justice ethics regulations.
Even Democrats are having a hard time defending this corruption.
What do you think Lynch and Clinton talked about in their secret meeting? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – we had some fun with the answers, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s votes.
Congratulations to Phil Oliva, John Faso and Claudia Tenney — the Conservative Party endorsed candidates in the 18th, 19th and 22nd Congressional Districts respectively, on winning their Republican Primary! Now on to victory in November!
John Podhoretz opines on the Benghazi Report saying in part that when it comes to radical Islam and the Obama administration, the truth is always the first casualty.
The House Benghazi Report is released and this is what Congressman Trey Gowdy has said about his report that it is not meant to be an indictment of Mrs. Clinton, but rather a look at the full picture in the run-up to the attack, the handling of the attack that night, and the effort to erroneously blame a video later. Here is some coverage of the report; from the Washington Times, here and here; from Politico; from NBC News; from the NY Post; and from Fox News here and here. You can read the full report here.
Another misguided decision from the US Supreme Court on the matter of protecting unborn lives from those who chose to end an innocent life. When highly educated members of the highest court in our country show lack of respect for innocent life, how can we expect others to? People decry guns and violence and want to curtail the Second Amendment in the name of saving lives, yet five members of the US Supreme Court essentially refused to take steps to save innocent lives. It is a sad day for America.
Our future is at state with the upcoming presidential elections. Imagine what America will become if Hillary Clinton is the person making the recommendations for US Supreme Court Justice.
Certainly Hillary Clinton shows little respect for the rule of law…as the Associated Press showed how she concealed evidence. And just today, Judge Andrew Napoltiano said that the discovery of a potentially damning email that Hillary Clinton failed to turn over to the State Department is of “critical importance,” and this revelation directly contradicts Clinton’s repeated claims that she never jeopardized national security secrets and that her emails were never hacked.
Thank you Michael Goodwin for another great column. Larry Kudlow also calls it like he sees in regarding Brexit. And support for Brexit from an unlikely person — Bill Mahar.
Great Britain has voted to exit the European Union. Some predict a great deal of trouble ahead, but others see June 23 as Britain’s “Independence Day.”
Many feel that the Brexit vote to remove Great Britain from the European Union, is a sign that voters everywhere are fed up with the status quo and want to take a stand against political elites who want to run people’s lives. Do you agree?
That is the first of our three new Weekly Poll questions. I hope you’ll vote today.
Now, back to the States…
This week we discovered that the left suddenly loves a government shutdown. House Speaker Paul Ryan rightly labeled the Democrats’ 1960s-style protest a “publicity stunt,” but their grandstanding did give us a look at the liberals’ true intentions.
Now on to presidential politics: “The Dirty Dozen” is a popular phrase rooted in pop culture, but to cover all of Hillary’s scandals it has to be expanded to “The Dirty TWO Dozen” – and still, the hits just keep coming and coming.
Donald Trump gave a speech Wednesday detailing Hillary’s corruption and dishonesty – and in that speech, we can determine the Trump campaign’s five-part attack plan against Clinton, Inc. According to The Wall Street Journal, the specific points Trump is making include:
Hillary is the insider who represents a “rigged system.”
Hillary benefits personally from being an insider while those outside the system suffer.
Trade agreements illustrate how the insider-run system hurts average Americans.
Immigration added to trade policies creates an even bigger problem.
The American people can’t trust Hillary Clinton.
I like this take on Trump’s campaign strategy, and I want to see what you think. So here’s the second Weekly Poll question: Which part of Donald Trump’s five-point attack plan against Hillary Clinton do you think will resonate MOST with voters?
Byron York of the Washington Examiner urges everyone to not overlook the substance of Trump’s speech. The New York Post agreeswholeheartedly.
Here’s our third and final Weekly Pol question: Do you believe that Bernie Sanders’ socialist supporters will follow their candidate’s lead and throw their support behind Hillary Clinton and the liberal establishment?
Let me know what you think, and have a great weekend!
