This week’s release of the FBI Inspector General’s report on the Hillary Clinton email investigation featured bombshell after bombshell – more Clinton lying, actual election meddling, and unbelievable corruption.

All in all, not a great day for the FBI – and don’t let anybody tell you that the report doesn’t find political bias from bad apples at the FBI.

The fix was definitely in for Hillary. Lawmakers are demanding accountability, and even MSNBC admits the report is damaging to the FBI’s credibility (and MSNBC viewers are likely saddened that all of official Washington’s anti-Trump conspiring actually backfired).

The report reads like a who’s who list of bad behavior – from Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton to Hillary and Comey and the rogue agents who leaked like sieves and eroded the FBI’s credibility.

Governor Cuomo:  can you explain this?  Fifty towns and villages that have lost upward of 6% of their population since you came into office?  Not a record to tout when asking New York’s citizens to give you another term.  You can’t even point to Buffalo (where you have poured millions of tax dollars into) as a success, since USA today listed it as the 34th worst city to live in in the entire nation.   New York needs new leadership; Marc Molinaro will work to restore New York’s economic engine to keep people here and revitalized cities and towns without government giveaways.

The Korean War officially began on June 25, 1950 when the North Korean communist army crossed the 38th Parallel into South Korea.  The reality is that the Korean War became inevitable when the Allies met at the Potsdam Conference in 1945 and decided to split Korea into two parts to hopefully contain the communist and allow South Korea to practice democracy.  36,914 men gave their lives when that plan failed and thus began  the Korean War that unofficially ended on July 27, 1953.  On June 12, 2018, President Donald J. Trump began the process to end Kim Jung-Un’s belief that he can use nuclear power to control the peninsular and all her residents and any other entity that may get in the way of his plan.  He is cunning, calculating, and diabolical.  President Trump is proficient in dealing with personalities that seek the kind of power Kim Jung-Un has been acquiring all his life, but admits he may be making  a mistake.   The Singapore Summit may be the day Kim Jung-Un overplayed his hand while President Donald J. Trump called his bluff.    The NY Sun has some reservations about the future which are only natural due to the history involved.  The Heritage Foundation looks at what may come next.   Jim Geraghty opining in National Review-on-line thinks we have suspended our war games for promises and magic beans.   Guy Benson gives his analysis here and like many is filled with hope tempered by an ugly history.  Ultimately, time and the ability to verify, will let the world know if Kim Jung-Un was the better chess player.  Whatever the outcome is shame on the American’s who want Donald J. After one of the best jobs reports ever, the Trump tax cuts continue to make America’s economy great again.  Ironic, isn’t it, that many corporations that are celebrating the tax cuts with boosts in pay and benefits for workers, actually supported Hillary Clinton – who would never have given the economy such a massive jolt.

There was bad news this week, though, about Social Security and Medicare – both programs are facing fiscal catastrophes.  Washington’s answer for too long has been to do nothing, and Obamacare actually weakened Medicare. And now Bernie Sanders and the Democrats want “Medicare for All” that will put more burdens on the program.

As Democrats go left and then even farther left, our conservative candidate Marc Molinaro is actually presenting sound ideas for New York.

Molinaro also understands that unlimited power helps entrenched pols like Andrew Cuomo take more and more control of our lives – so he’s pledging to limit himself to two terms if he’s elected governor and calling for term limits… two four-year terms for state offices including governor, and 12-year limits for state lawmakers.

Kudos to him for moving the term limits debate forward – and let’s keep it going with this third question in our new Weekly Poll: What is the main reason that you think term limits would be good for New York?

An article in today’s Daily Caller is making everyone aware of the Southern Poverty Law Center’s (SPLC) influence in social media.  The problem with this is that SPLC has a history of inaccuracies and routinely labels conservative organizations as “hate groups.”

The Obama-era program that won’t go away; it isn’t Obamacare, rather it is Obama’s “Operation Chokepoint” designed to investigate and punish businesses that engage in commerce that the Obama administration deemed to be on the “fringe.”   The Obama Administration truly has deep tentacle’s that are almost impossible to disengage.

Jonathan S. Tobin writes in the National Review on-line what the left has planned for its next crusade.  While the possible bill language sounds innocent enough, it is not. 

Social Security is rapidly going insolvent.  For the first time since 1982, Social Security is dipping into tis reserves.  If it continues on this path, recipients will face an automatic 21% decrease.  Even with this devasting news there are politicians who want to give illegal immigrants all the benefits afforded to citizens, which would only bring Social Security to insolvency much sooner than 2034.   Guy Benson notes that Medicare is in the same awful shape, perhaps even worse.   Both could be stabilized, if politicians only had the backbone to do it. 

It is way past the time to cut programs like this.  Congress must examine where our tax dollars are going, and end grants that are predestined to reach the conclusions the applicants want.  Here is another study that is a waste of taxpayer’s hard- earned dollars. 

One more reason to never give up, despite what the doctors tell you. 

NYC’s top schools wouldn’t survive de Blasio’s testing plan.  Bob McManus takes the Mayor to task on his latest boondoggle idea.  BREAKING:  Speaker Heastie says bill will not be taken up this session, but will be considered in 2019.  It is time for us to organize against this movement. 

George Soros pours money into DA races; does he earn some of that money from these races?  (Just a rhetorical question as the blog needed to lighten up a bit today. I wonder if Soros will be the big winner of the day.)

Taxing the Rich? Assembly wants money spread around.  Note this paragraph, “Taxing the wealthy in New York City is once again part of a discussion for bolstering the ailing New York City subway system, a move that’s unlikely to take place this legislative session considering opposition in the state Senate. (emphasis added).  It is extremely important that this November voters delivers a Republican/Conservative majority to the Senate.  The Democrats will deliver ever increasing taxes if they are not held in check; the wealthy will move out of New York State and you will pay the ever-increasing taxes. 

It is so easy to waste money when you don’t earn it and have the ability to just take it from those who do earn it.  State will pay $1.7M to get rid of unsuccessful movie studio…after it paid $14 million to build it.  Mayor de Blasio will use $7 million of your tax dollars for a study – A STUDY – for de Blasio’s trolley idea.  Just the study will cost $7 million, image what the trolley will cost to build.  I guess this is why these two are in government because if they ever tried to become CEO’s of a business, they would be gone before they were able to drive the business into bankruptcy.  Remember this in November when you have the opportunity to vote for governor!

Mayor “de Lusional” is back on the delusional path thinking is plan to diversify the eight special schools is “blessed.”  The NY Post editorial board decimates Mayor de Blasio’s idea to destroy New York’s top schools, rightfully so.

Saturday’s Adirondack Daily Enterprise editorial decimates Governor Cuomo’s spokesperson!  Kudos to them. 

New York City wants to add an “X” category to birth certificates.  Did you know that currently if parents – in New York City – of a newborn do not want to identify a sex, they can say the sex of the child is undetermined or unknown…isn’t this also detrimental to a child? 

California has some rather unusual travel bans.  And as long as California keeps passing laws like this, they will lose the population capable of paying the bills.

Why should states that protect illegal immigrants be rewarded with more political power?  Good question.  Hans von Spakovsky answers the question here and informs us that Alabama has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Census Bureau. If the state wins, it could have major political ramifications and restore fundamental fairness in political representation in Congress.

Supreme Court sides with Colorado baker who refused to make wedding cake for same-sex couple.  While the decision was based on Colorado’s anti-religious bias on the Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the vote was 7-2 with only Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissenting.   Religious liberty has be strengthened, but, Guy Benson reminds everyone it is a very narrow ruling  that still leaves some questions open.   Dan McLaughlin has some of the same concerns in his National Review on line piece.   David French, also writing in National Review on line, is a bit more optimistic noting that tolerance, it appears, is not a one-way street.

It’s been a week of celebrities, pseudo-celebrities and quasi-celebrities as “entertainers” staking out various parts of the political spectrum have made spectacles of themselves. (And be aware, some of the following links have disturbing language and images, because we’re dealing with disturbing people here.)

Somebody you’ve probably heard of, Roseanne Barr, who has cast herself as pro-Trump, said something vile (not surprising) and was immediately fired. 

Somebody you’ve probably never heard of, Samantha Bee, who apparently has a TV show and is beloved on the left, said something vile… and got an award. 

So let’s start with the first question in our new Weekly Poll: Overall, what do you think about celebrities becoming active in politics? 

In these specific cases of celebrity activism, both situations are repugnant, but many see a clear double standard at work since Roseanne was immediately punished and Samantha Bee wasn’t.  

What do you think – how big is the media’s double standard for liberals and conservatives? That’s the second Weekly Poll question I have for you.

I ask this question keeping in mind that many conservatives had grave doubts about Roseanne as a Trump standard-bearer from the very start, and their concerns seemed to have been well-founded.  At any rate, Rich Lowry explains how the Roseanne meltdown in reality says nothing about Trump’s America.

But liberals will believe anything and lie about everything when it comes to President Trump. 

Nevertheless, there’s been plenty to smile about this week (the economy lifting plenty of spirits), which is fitting – May 31 was actually National Smile Day. So let’s end with our third Weekly Poll question – what makes you smile right now when you think about politics?

Mayor de Blasio really should read Michael Goodwin’s column in today’s NY Post.  It is shameful that Mr. Goodwin felt it necessary to write this particular column. 

Valerie Richardson makes some valid points in her Washington Times column pointing out the validity of the quote “be careful what you wish for.”

Today’s Daily Signal has three columns that give us some real hope that the swamp is being drained.  President Trump signed an executive order calling for the end to taxpayer subsidies to federal unions; Republicans introduced a bill to rescind $15 billion in spending which President Trump fully supports; and most importantly President Trump’s directive that will allow fewer tax dollars to go to abortion providers. 

Alas, just when you think things are getting better, along comes this headline:  Social Security pays benefits to hundreds of dead people. 

Sen. Chuck Schumer should be ashamed of himself.  I hope he never has the “need to try” but since the President and republicans passed the “need to try” bill, you can be certain if he does he will take full advantage of the “need to try” bill.
