DID ANDREW CUOMO COMMIT FRAUD FOR BOOK PROFITS?   Statement by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

Brooklyn, NY  – “Governor Andrew Cuomo’s best-selling book, “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic” (Crown, 2020), was written under false pretenses, it has now been made clear. That begs the question: ‘Did Andrew Cuomo purposely mislead editors and readers — falsely establishing him himself as a COVID-19 leadership whiz — in order to make the maximum amount of money for himself through book sales?

“If the Governor knowingly misled editors and readers for remunerative benefit, he may have committed fraud. It’s a serious question that needs to be looked into by an independent investigator.”

BOMBSHELL: Governor Cuomo’s Top Aide Admits to Hiding Nursing Home Data

Last night, what we all knew to be true for many months officially became verified information when Melissa DeRosa, top aide to Governor Cuomo, admitted that his administration has been lying and covering up nursing home deaths for months to deceive the Federal Government.

The stunning revelations came yesterday after DeRosa apologized to Democratic members of the State legislature, admitting they “froze” because then President Donald Trump was tweeting true information regarding the nursing home crisis created by Governor Cuomo and his Health Administration.

“So we do apologize,” DeRosa said. “I do understand the position that you were put in. I know that it is not fair. It was not our intention to put you in that political position with the Republicans.”

For nearly a year, the Conservative Party has been calling for an independent investigation to be conducted by the United States Department of Justice. While the mainstream media and Democratic New York State Assembly and Senate praised Governor Cuomo and ignored the facts right under their nose, we repeatedly cried foul. Today, we could be taking our first steps towards true justice and holding Governor Cuomo and his administration accountable.

Many of our Conservative/Republican members of the U.S. House of Representatives, State Assembly and State Senate have been trying to lead their fellow colleagues in government to water, but their refusal until now to put partisan politics aside, work for the people of New York, and resist the bully in the Governor’s mansion led to Andrew Cuomo believing he was above the law.

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik has been a leading voice and outspoken critic of Cuomo’s. She was ridiculed in the media and attacked by the Governors top errand boy Rich Azzopardi, but she remained consistent.

“I have said from the beginning that this is more than a nursing home scandal, this is a massive corruption and coverup scandal at the highest level of New York State Government implicating the Governor, the Secretary to the Governor, the New York State Health Commissioner, and the Governor’s staff,” the Congresswoman said.

As this story begins to develop, it is clear the Cuomo administration has earned themselves a DOJ investigation, and criminal charges. The Governor, his aide DeRosa, Health Commissioner Zucker, and lead errand boy Azzopardi should resign effective immediately.

Claudia Tenney Sworn In

We would like to officially congratulate Congresswoman Claudia Tenney from New York’s 22nd District on her hard-fought victory.

It took over 3 months to certify, but when the dust settled, the results were clear. Now Congresswoman Tenney is seated in Congress and ready to take aim at an America First legislative agenda.

We are happy this race was finally certified and proud of Claudia for flipping the district back red. I look forward to working with her and all the members of our Conservative delegation.

Chairman Kassar’s wrap-up includes a tribute to Barbara Keating-Edh, the continuing nursing home crisis, Tuesday’s live interview with John Gizzi on Facebook and our 2021 legislative program.

Barbara Keating-Edh 1938-2021

Conservative Party friend & supporter Herb Stupp prepared the following obituary for the late Barbara Keating-Edh.

The Conservative Party of New York sadly announces the death of Barbara Keating-Edh, on January 30th.  Barbara is best remembered by Conservatives as the party’s 1974 candidate for U. S. Senator.   Left out of many statewide polls through September 30th that year, Barbara shocked many observers by garnering nearly 823,000 votes statewide, or 17% in the three-way race.   Her strong showing held three-term liberal Republican Senator Jacob Javits to well under 50%, with radical Democrat Ramsey Clark polling a distant second.   Keating TV commercials took a strong pro-life stance.

After a stint on the staff of U. S. Senator Jim Buckley, Barbara helped to found “Consumer Alert,” a non-profit policy group emphasizing free market competition over big government as the best way to protect American consumers.  During a speech for the organization in California, Barbara met her future husband, Lennarth Edh, who survives her.

Her marriage brought her from Westchester, New York to Modesto, California, where she lived with Lennarth for nearly 40 years.    She almost won a state legislative seat as a Republican and ran the county office of Catholic Charities.  Barbara also served on the Board of the American Conservative Union, as well as on the transition team for President-elect Ronald Reagan.

Born in 1938 as Barbara Galvin, she married Marine Corps officer Daniel Keating, and they welcomed five children.   Major Keating was killed in action in Vietnam in 1968, leaving Barbara to raise their children alone.

She joined the Conservative Party and began speaking about the importance of Vietnam, debating the likes of Bella Abzug, William Kunstler, Ramsey Clark, Black Panther leaders and other radicals and liberals.   Although she never attended college, Barbara was quick-witted and well-informed, always “schooling” her debating opponents on the left.   Her gleaming smile and fresh-faced beauty surely disarmed many of her opponents.

In addition to husband Lennarth, Barbara is survived by a large family of children, stepchildren, their spouses, 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.   Please keep them, and Barbara, in your prayers.

Nursing Home Crisis Continues

A judge ruled Wednesday that Governor Cuomo’s Health Department broke the law by refusing to give the total number of nursing home deaths to a Government watchdog organization.

In the decision, acting Albany Supreme Court Justice Kimberly O’Connor voiced her displeasure with the DOH for repeatedly denying the Empire Center for Public Policy the information.

“We’re very pleased but we don’t have the data yet and there’s still a chance that they will appeal and tie this up for potentially months longer — and given the way they’ve behaved so far, I wouldn’t be surprised,” said The Empire Center’s Bill Hammond, who also referred to the ruling as a “great victory.”

However, in their efforts to shield Governor Cuomo from taking responsibility and answering for his failures, New York’s Democrat supermajority on Monday blocked a motion to subpoena records of the Cuomo administration. The motion was made by Sen. Thomas O’Mara, the ranking Republican on the Investigations Committee panel during a virtual meeting, but the Democrats put up a roadblock and did not even allow members to make a vote.

As dominos continue to fall, it is clear there will be attempts to pass the buck on the nursing home crisis as State Democrats will follow their pied piper and continue to disregard decency and common sense.

 2021 Legislative Agenda

New York State Conservative Party released the Party’s 2021 Legislative Program earlier this week. We publicly submit our Program each year to make clear our beliefs and priorities for the annual legislative session in Albany.

Political parties have a duty to spell out the ideas and legislative measures they support, and we are pleased to do so again in 2021. Unsurprisingly, we continue to call for fiscally sound, pro-economic-growth policies; respect for human life; strong public safety laws; religious and other constitutional freedoms; free-market solutions to healthcare and housing shortages; accountability in education, and government reforms, including the return of powers to the State Legislature, a co-equal branch of New York State government. We urge members of all political affiliations to review and consider these recommendations for a better state.

Chairman Kassar discusses AG James’ bombshell report, the Lincoln Project and President Biden EO effectively ending young women’s sports.

NY Attorney General Releases Bombshell Report

I knew it, you knew it, and the Governor knew it. Now, he cannot hide it.

According to a new report released Thursday by Attorney General Tish James, the Cuomo administration under-reported COVID nursing home deaths by nearly 55%. An absolutely astonishing number.

For months, grieving families have searched for answers. Why did Cuomo’s Health Department order nursing homes to accept COVID positive patients? They knew the disease to be deadly, yet they placed them amongst the most vulnerable residents of our state, all while the USNS Comfort remained empty on the Hudson and a field hospital at the Javits Center went unused.

“Government guidance requiring the admission of COVID-19 patients into nursing homes, may have put residents at increased risk of harm in some facilities and may have obscured the data available to assess that risk” the report from the Attorney General said.

While you searched for answers, Governor Cuomo wrote a book and was nominated for an International Emmy. You grieved for a loved one, while he posed for the camera. He gleefully sat in front of the camera daily, smiled, cracked jokes, and lied straight to our faces while we spent day and night worrying about our elderly parents.

What the Governor did is beyond shameful, despicable, and dishonest, even for him. To add insult to injury, he has taken repeated victory laps for months and been showered in praise by his lackey’s and sycophants in Albany.

I have called for a full federal investigation into Governor Cuomo and his cover up of thousands of deaths. Additionally, it is time the Governor and his Health Commissioner do right by the people of New York and resign immediately. They are not fit to lead our state, in any capacity, any longer.

Lincoln Project

Rino’s masquerading as real Republicans, or Democrats undercover as Rino’s? No matter how you look at the Lincoln Project is nothing but an organization built on grifting, led by people no longer of any political importance to the world, who can’t quite come to terms with one simple reality; they are not wanted professionally. Anywhere.

If it were up to them, we would have 100 less conservatives walking the halls of Congress and no hope of taking back control of the House of Representatives or Congress in 2022. Instead, they would have us many political cycles, maybe even a decade behind. With what has transpired in Washington in just one week of the Biden administration, I cannot even begin to imagine what multiple years of Democratic control would look like.

The Lincoln Project set out to influence the 2020 elections and propel Democrats to victory over every Trump supporting candidate running for election or re-election to the House. In doing so, they spent $67,000,000 by convincing liberals from all over the country to give them money to run cheesy, non-effective television ads. As we all know now, Republicans would go on to make unexpected gains and give Nancy Pelosi the smallest majority to work with since World War II.

As the Lincoln Project burned left wing money on  expensive stunts, like a Times Square billboard in one of the most uncontested districts in America, New York City’s 12th Congressional, Trump had support from 91 percent of Republicans and voters who lean Republican, according to a Fox News Voter Analysis . Although Joe Biden outperformed Hillary Clinton’s 2016 suburban numbers, Donald Trump won a higher percentage of white women in 2020.

Perhaps the Lincoln Project should be spending more time in sensitivity and ethics training following the revelation that co-founder John Weaver resigned after admitting to sending sexually inappropriate messages to at least 30 young men, attempting to trade sexual favors for political favors.

It may be time for the Lincoln Project to take on a more suitable name, perhaps naming themselves after another one time American leader, Benedict Arnold.

The Benedict Arnold Project has a more honest ring to it.

Biden Signs Executive Order Effectively Ending Women’s Sports

President Joe Biden wasted no time issuing an Executive Order “Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation.” This political move became instant news in the sports world. Why? Because of one clause, “Children should be able to learn without worrying about whether they will be denied access to the restroom, the locker room, or school sports.”

“There is no comparison, especially between adult females and males, males are just more dominant. They are stronger,” said Dr. Linda Blade, a sports performance specialist.

The Biden administration avoids one very inconvenient point on the topic: how muscle mass, bone density, and lung capacity of biological females give them an unfair disadvantage. Biological men will be competing on a vastly uneven playing field on their way to wins, trophies, championships and college scholarships.

In 2018, Craig Telfer competed for the Franklin Pierce University Mens’ Track Team, he finished eighth in a field of nine competitors. A year later, Telfer competed as CeCe and defeated seven biological women, winning an NCAA women’s track national championship. This is just one example of biological females who have dedicated their life to training and perfecting their craft only to have it taken away by a biological male.

Statement on Attorney General Nursing Home Report by New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

“An honorable leader would resign under such circumstances.”

Brooklyn, NY — “Attorney General Letitia James’s damning report on New York nursing home deaths has exposed one of the most egregious cover ups in New York State history. There must be a price to pay.

“The report confirms what millions of New Yorkers already suspected: Governor Andrew Cuomo and his administration willfully manipulated data to hide the number of deaths caused by their inexplicably foolish policy decisions.

“The pain suffered by thousands of New York families who lost loved ones because of the Governor’s poor decisions, compounded by Mr. Cuomo’s appalling braggadocio over the past year about his handling of the Covid-19 crisis, is made more painful still by this report. The Governor tried to wash his hands of their deaths, and now he has been found out.

“An honorable leader would resign under such circumstances.”

Chairman Kassar’s weekly wrap-up discusses the first days of the Biden Administration, AG James’ attack on the NYPD and Gov. Cuomo’s short-sighted budget.

Biden Presidency Embracing America Last

It took less than 12 hours for President Biden cancel over 40,000 working class jobs when he halted all work on the Keystone XL pipeline. He followed up that decision to eliminate jobs immediately by re-joining the disastrous Paris Accord which unfairly, and unjustly hurts America.

With the stroke of a pen, President Biden fired an estimated 42,000 American workers who were either employed directly or indirectly to the project. The layoffs will result in over $1.5 billion dollars in lost wages.

Additionally, President Biden did the environment no favors. It is environmentally more friendly for oil to pass through pipes, resulting in 42% less emissions, rather than be transported by rail which increase emissions by nearly 50%. To make matters worse, the cost of a barrel of oil increases between $5 and $10, causing more financial burden on you, the consumer.

That was followed up by his decision to rejoin the Paris Accord which will undoubtedly lead to more American jobs lost while putting an unfair burden on the United States.

Finally, President Biden ordered deportations be halted for 100 days and to open travel from states considered as terrorist hot spots. Caravans are already forming from South America and thousands are heading towards America, during a pandemic, looking to take advantage of the United States and their newly implemented plan to grant undocumented travelers’ entry.

This is just the tip of the iceberg and the ultimate example of elections having consequences.

Attorney General James Attacks NYPD

New York Attorney General Leticia James joined forces with rioters earlier this week when she introduced a lawsuit against the NYPD for responding with force to a destructive mob hellbent on doing damage to city and private property.

Eleven New York City police offers were injured in what James called “peaceful protests.” Conveniently, this summer Attorney General James was MIA as rioters and looters were costing the city of New York tens of millions of dollars.

With early murder rates and shooting victims already outpacing 2020’s dangerous numbers, the NYPD are the only ones serving this city to seem to have any interest in keeping it safe. This attack is asinine and unconscionable.

While thousands have left New York City, leaving the city as an impasse that even Governor Cuomo believes could take 5 years to recover from, it remains unclear to me just how bad the situation here needs to get before voters open their eyes. As a lifelong New Yorker, I can assure you todays inhabitants don’t want to experience the city the way I did in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Ignorance is bliss until the “not in my backyard” crowd experiences it in their backyard.

Cuomo’s Short Sided Budget

Governor Cuomo made it very clear earlier this week that if New York does not receive a federal bailout to the tune of $15 billion, he will sue the federal government then take the states shortcomings and reckless spending out on the taxpayer by way of massive tax hikes.

The new tax rate for top earner would be nearly 11% in New York State, a number that will surely lead to high earners once again packing their bag and heading for friendlier tax pastures. These individuals have a right to save and provide for their families without being the Governors personal piggy bang.

As Senate Minority Rob Ortt stated earlier this week, New York’s overtaxing and reckless spending far predate the financial complications brought on by COVID. “This is poor financial management and poor governing” the Minority Leader said after the budget proposal was released.

Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay echoed Senator Ortt’s thoughts on twitter “Yesterday was not a budget presentation. It was the same finger-pointing rhetoric we have heard for months. Federal help is necessary but threatening legal action if your demands aren’t met is far from a reliable strategy.”

New York has been wildly spending money they don’t have since day 1 of the Cuomo administration, never once stopping to consider the situation the state would be in during a time of crisis. The Governors inability to responsibly plan for our state’s future has put us in a deficit it could take a decade to recover from.

Chairman Kassar’s weekly wrap up discusses the Impeachment sham, our legislative agenda and the minority conferences legislative agendas.

Impeachment Sham

With just days remaining in his term, President Trump was impeached in the House of Representatives in another stunt that was both a waste of time and counterproductive for America.

At a time in which tensions are high, a rushed impeachment with no due process and no trial, just a rushed vote by a Democratic majority, is shameful and set’s a dangerous precedence moving forward.

I want to thank six of our New York Representatives for voting no on the sham impeachment. I had the opportunity to speak with Congressmembers Stefanik, Zeldin, Malliotakis, Jacobs, Garbarino, and Reed. They were thoughtful and clear on why they were voting no. I applaud their transparency and willingness to discuss their rationale.

However, the State Conservative Party is disappointed that one New York Representative did vote with Nancy Pelosi to impeach the President. We consider Congressman John Katko’s actions to be ill-informed. It does nothing to bridge the divide, but it does everything to further aggravate it.

2021 Legislative Agenda

The Executive Committee of the New York State Conservative Party met last weekend in Brooklyn to finalize our legislative agenda.

Amongst the big-ticket items are repealing the criminal justice reforms passed by State Democrats in 2019, ending cashless bail, preventing defunding of the police, opposing the legalization of recreational cannabis, and vigorously defending New York taxpayers against the massive tax increases being proposed by the State Legislature.

As we finalize our agenda in the coming days, I look forward to going into more depth on what you can expect from us in 2021.

 Minority Conference Legislative Agenda

For the third consecutive year, State Democrats will control both chambers of the State House in Albany and will surely be looking to expand on their progressive agenda.

The State Legislature that brought us dangerous criminal justice reform, looks to expand on that and continue to give criminals, often repeat offenders, just as many rights as those who abide by the law daily. Additionally, Albany Democrats have made it no secret that they will work to raise taxes, including massive tax increases on the wealthy who continue to leave New York State in droves.

Last week, the Republican Senate released its agenda, “Resetting New York.” Minority Leader Senator Rob Ortt has promised Republicans will oppose all tax increases and will introduce a hostile amendment every day that the Governor continues to hold increased executive powers granted to him by the legislature last year.

In their efforts to get the economy moving in the right direction, The Assembly Minority has also set their agenda called “Jump-Start New York: A Plan for Economic Recovery.” Assembly Republicans are also looking to decrease the Governors powers and increase local authorities’ powers during times of crisis. Additionally, they want to implement the “NY Business Emergency Relief Act of 2021” to direct unallocated funds to business relief purposes.

Chairman Kassar discusses the new Congress, NY’s fumbled vaccine rollout, and NY’s shocking new legislative bill.

117th Congress

On Sunday the 117th Congress took their oaths of office and officially became United State Representatives.

At the moment our New York State delegation has grown by one member when Nicole Malliotakis was sworn in as New York’s Representative from the 11th district. Soon, I expect our number to grow again when Claudia Tenney’s victory is certified.

I want to congratulate our re-elected incumbents Rep. Elise Stefanik, Rep Lee Zeldin, Rep. John Katko, Rep. Tom Reed, Rep. Chris Jacobs, and newly elected Rep. Andrew Garbarino who was elected to replace the retiring Rep. Peter King.

I look forward to the future with our new slate of Representatives. Their futures are bright and they are eager to work on behalf of their districts.

Additionally, New York State Conservative Party staffer John Seravalli has joined the staff of Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis in Washington D.C. John will be traveling between New York City and D.C. and will continue as an active member of the party and State Executive Committee. Please feel free to continue to reach out to him at any time.

Finally, I would be remise if I didn’t comment on Wednesday’s terrible events that transpired at the U.S. Capitol, a not only historical complex, but a complex in which was holding our New York delegation and staff members.

As our executive director noted in Thursday’s daily update, “…what happened was wrong.  When an election is lost, by whatever means, we examine how we lost, we hold our head high and we do not destroy all the good we have done.  We are no longer kids in school playgrounds fighting about who dropped the ball.  We must be the adult and demand that cooler heads prevail; we cannot criticize Antifa and the rioting that occurred all summer long, then let our anger react in a similar way, albeit, I do believe that some from Antifa were at the rally and edged on the crowd in Washington, DC.

I understand the frustration that people have; I understand how being out of work for 10 long months (and no real end in sight) can create resentment against a government who has forgotten that “We the People” run the greatest experiment in democracy.  I understand that the politics of playing with people’s lives has caused many to lash out in anger, but, unbridled anger will not resolve the serious conflicts America is facing within.

We must regain the dream that our Founding Fathers believed in.  We must remember our history and acknowledge, while not perfect, we have corrected our mistakes.  Erasing our history, or not knowing it, can allow some of the same mistakes to be made again.  We must focus on the generosity of Americans; those who serve to protect our way of life; those that give to those who need; those that create jobs for others to earn a living; those who worship God, not the statism that seeks to replace Him and we must refocus on the golden rule:  treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Governor Cuomo Fumbles Vaccine Rollout

Governor Cuomo is running out of people to blame for his failures, but I don’t believe that will stop him from passing the buck on his inability to do his job.

Earlier this spring, in typical Cuomo fashion, he made President Trump the scapegoat saying they didn’t have enough ventilators or hospital rooms. Weeks later we would learn ventilators went unused and hospital rooms unutilized.

Now we learn of the 630,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccination delivered to New York State, less than a third had actually been administered according to a report issued last week.  A chapter that is surely to be left out of the Governors next book.

Conservative/Republican Assemblyman Michael Lawler said on twitter this week: It’s very simple: @NYGovCuomo asked for and was given complete control of the pandemic response back in March of last year. He therefore is completely responsible for the consequences of his decisions: nursing home deaths and the failed vaccine distribution.”

The facts remain that the Governor has been given a free pass from the very beginning and continues to be absolved of all responsibility, no matter how much he has failed. While the Governor profited from tragedy, businesses and livelihoods were stripped from working class New Yorker’s. While he received an Emmy, businesses received orders to close. While he looked for more fame allowing nearly 7,000 people in an NFL stadium, he wouldn’t allow you to have 10 paying customers in your restaurant.

The Trump Administration in conjunction with pharmaceutical companies worked in record time to produce a vaccine. The Cuomo Administration had one job, administer it to New Yorker’s. He has failed to even do that.

Shocking Assembly Bill A416

Earlier this week Democratic Assemblyman Nick Perry introduced a bill so shocking I had to read the text twice.

Below is text directly from the Bill:

2.UPON DETERMINING BY CLEAR AND CONVINCING EVIDENCE THAT THE HEALTH OF OTHERS IS OR MAY BE ENDANGERED BY A CASE, CONTACT  OR CARRIER, OR SUSPECTED  CASE, CONTACT OR CARRIER OF A CONTAGIOUS DISEASE THAT, IN THE OPINION OF THE GOVERNOR, AFTER CONSULTATION WITH THE  COMMISSIONER, MAY POSE AN IMMINENT AND SIGNIFICANT THREAT TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH RESULTING IN SEVERE MORBIDITY OR HIGH MORTALITY, THE GOVERNOR OR HIS OR HER DELEGEE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE COMMISSIONER OR THE HEADS OF LOCAL HEALTH DEPARTMENTS, MAY ORDER THE REMOVAL AND/OR DETENTION OF SUCH A PERSON OR OF A GROUP OF SUCH PERSONS BY ISSUING A SINGLE ORDER, IDENTIFYING SUCH PERSONS EITHER BY NAME OR BY A REASONABLY SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION OF THE INDIVIDUALS OR GROUP BEING DETAINED. SUCH PERSON OR GROUP OF PERSONS SHALL BE DETAINED IN A MEDICAL FACILITY OR OTHER APPROPRIATE FACILITY OR PREMISES  DESIGNATED BY THE GOVERNOR OR HIS OR HER DELEGEE AND COMPLYING WITH SUBDIVISION FIVE OF THIS SECTION.

Yes, you read it right. New York Democrats want to give the Governor the right to forcibly remove you and place you in the “appropriate” facility.

As we continue to operate under one party control in New York State, the legislation coming out of Albany continues to expand the Governors powers and put New Yorker’s at risk of financial ruin or stripping us of basic rights. I fear this is only the tip of the iceberg and implore you to pay attention to the legislation and rhetoric coming out of Albany.

As we continue to lead the country in out migration, we are on pace to set New York back a generation. It is time we get serious about the challenges facing us and put an end to this assault on our basic rights.

Chairman Kassar’s weekly wrap-up discusses Religious Freedom, the 22nd Congressional District, President Trump’s Conservative vote and George J. Marlin’s book about Mario Cuomo.

A Win for Religious Freedom

Last week the United States Supreme Court handed in a 5-4 decision striking down Governor Cuomo’s order limiting religious gatherings to 10 and 25 people.

“I have said from the beginning the restrictions imposed by Governor Cuomo were an overreach that did not take into account the size of our churches or the safety protocols that have kept parishioners safe,” said Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn.

Other Catholic and Orthodox Jewish leaders from around the state including the Brooklyn Diocese and Agudath Israel played big roles in pushing back against their religious freedoms being infringed upon by a power-hungry tyrant.

Governor Cuomo could do nothing but accuse the court of partisanship after the decision, claiming it was due to the three Justices nominated by President Donald Trump and their ideology.

The decision bruised Governor Cuomo’s ego which has grown larger and larger over the course of the past 8 months.

Earlier this year Jason McGuire, Livingston County Conservative Party Chairman and Executive Director of New Yorker’s for Constitutional Freedom, led the charge in urging the Governor to work with faith leaders and come to an agreement that would safely open churches.

Claudia Tenney continues to maintain a lead of 12 votes in a race that has been covered in a cloud of confusion with new twists and turns seemingly every day.

First it was a head scratching case of missing Post-it notes. The sticky notes “fell” off a stack of disputed ballots, making it unclear whether the ballots had already been counted. Next, the Chenango County Board of Elections found 55 “mislaid” ballots. 11 of the ballots were immediately thrown out due to registration issues leaving 44 to be added to the count. It is believed the remaining 44 ballots will break in Tenney’s direction as it appears those ballots were cast by a majority of Republicans.

While I do not expect any new updates until Monday, I do want to thank Madison County Conservative Party Chairman and attorney Chris Kendall who has been working with the Tenney campaign to ensure recount efforts are being properly handled and every legal vote is being counted.

I am confident we will have good news to report in the coming days, but I remain concerned with how the Oneida and Chenango Counties Board of Elections have handled the process. Carelessness and lack of transparency has the voters of the 22nd District unknowing who their representative will be more than a month after election day.

These issues must be corrected and the Board of Elections in both counties must take the steps necessary to ensure these issues do not happen again in the future.

President Trump closing in on 300,000 Conservative Party votes

I am proud to announce as it currently stands, President Trump has received 295,697 votes on the Conservative Party line, the second most votes for President in the history of the party trailing only Richard Nixon in 1972.

President Trump’s 2016 effort was previously the second highest. He now holds the 2nd and 3rd most votes in party history.

I want to thank everyone who voted on the Conservative Party line and everyone who continues to be a friend of the party. With your help we continue to play a major role in races all over the state. Our party line is actively sought year after year from the North Country on down to Long Island. Candidates know the importance of being on row C and what it means to their chances.

I look forward to continuing our fight in 2021.

Mario Cuomo: The Myth and The Man

I was pleased to be joined by George Marlin last night to discuss his new book. George, through an immense amount of research and first-hand accounts, relives the Mario Cuomo era and offers true insight into politics in the 1970’s and 1980’s. I highly recommend the book to those interested in an important chapter in New York State and national political history.

Chairman Kassar’s Weekly Wrap Up discusses 2020 Election Update, Facebook Live interview on Dec. 3rd and Thanksgiving

2020 Election Update

President Trump’s legal defense team updated us yesterday on their ongoing investigation in what they believe to be widespread voter fraud.

“There’s not a singular vote fraud in one state. This pattern repeats itself in a number of states, almost exactly the same pattern,” campaign attorney Rudy Giuliani said.

“It suggests there was a plan from a centralized place to execute these various acts of voter fraud, specifically focused on big cities, and specifically focused on big cities controlled by Democrats,” he continued.

Giuliani maintains hundreds of thousands of mail-in-ballots were not inspected for irregularities before being counted in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia.

Additionally, questions continue to surround the Dominion Voting System software used to count votes. The Trump campaign alleges the system could have erroneously counted thousands upon thousands of votes for Biden that were meant for the President.

As we continue to await further information and evidence from the investigation, it is clear we are not doing enough to protect the integrity of our elections. We must demand transparency and allegations that Republican inspectors were not permitted to monitor the absentee ballot count is indeed troubling.

Live on Facebook with George Marlin

I will be speaking with George Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00pm on Facebook Live to discuss his new book Mario Cuomo: The Myth and the Man.

The former head of the New York Port Authority, Marlin has been heavily involved with the state’s Conservative Party, including being the Party’s candidate for mayor of New York City in 1993.

He writes his newest book with an intimate knowledge of the Cuomo family and how they operated, and continue to operate, politically in New York.

Details on how to get a signed copy of the book will be provided during the live interview on December 3rd.

Happy Thanksgiving

It may be difficult to understand how important the first Thanksgiving was for the pilgrims considering all that they had endured. Regardless, On June 20, 1676 the council of Charlestown, Massachusetts gathered to discuss the best options to express their gratitude. They would instruct the town clerk to proclaim June 29 as a day of Thanksgiving.

Though the first Thanksgiving can be traced back to 1621 when Colonists declared a day of thanks after their crops were saved by rainfall, the first official proclamation came in 1676 in Charlestown.

Nonetheless, they had much to mourn, but knew they had much to be thankful for. They had survived a rough voyage across the Atlantic, infectious diseases and exposure to the brutally cold New England winters.  Within their original plantation, half of the 102 people who had set sail passed, yet they still gathered and were thankful.

As you visit with family and friends next week, it is my hope that you will find satisfaction and gratitude for everything we still have through all the troubles we have recently endured. Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on the many abundance of blessings around us. A time to reflect on what God has provided for us, and a time to reflect on the many meaningful relationships we have with our loved ones.

I wish you all a happy and safe holiday season and look forward to continuing our good work into the future.

Chairman Kassar’s weekly wrap-up discusses the continuing ballot audits, Congresswoman-elect Malliotakis, George J. Marlin’s new book and Cuomo’s downsizing Thanksgiving.

Ballot Audits

Ten days have passed since election day and there are still many questions to be answered. It appears we will get closer to at least one answer as Georgia begins to recount almost 5 million ballots.

The state has not voted for a Democrat since 1992, but Joe Biden holds a lead of just over 14,000 votes. In an unusual development, the vote counting in Atlanta’s State Farm Arena was halted due to a “burst pipe.” Officials have not been able to produce any proof that a work order was issued for the “burst pipe.” However, arena officials have called the incident “highly exaggerated” and called the issue a “slow leak” that they quickly managed.

The audits in Georgia will begin Friday morning and are required to be completed by November 18th.

In Pennsylvania a judge ordered the votes of those who failed to submit proof of identification before the November 9th deadline be disqualified, a win for the Trump campaign. However, Biden’s lead in the state is currently outside the minimum needed to call for an automatic recount.

In Arizona the votes continued to be counted. As of this writing we do not know if the separation between the two candidates will call for a recount.

An interesting development in the last 48 hours is the questioning of the Dominion voting machines that were reportedly used in multiple states, including the battleground state of Pennsylvania. The President and his team have made claims that the machines may have deleted more than two million of his votes.

The situation in many states remains fluid with the proper officials continuning to gather information and the Trump campaign investigating claims of voter fraud around the country.

Malliotakis Flips Rose

Max Rose officially conceded the race in New York’s 11th Congressional District to Nicole Malliotakis on Thursday putting an end to their three-day absentee ballot counting expedition that was not wielding the results he needed or hoped for.

With a lead of more than 37,000 votes, this race was all but settled on election night. Yesterday, what we knew all along, became official.

Nicole becomes the only Conservative/Republican to represent any part of New York City in Congress.

Running as the law and order candidate with the backing of every police union in the city, Nicole’s message of supporting the police against violent mobs and preserving the integrity of Staten Island and South Brooklyn, resonated to voters.

Outmatched dollar-to-dollar by the incumbent Max Rose, with Nancy Pelosi and the Congressional Leadership Fund pouring millions and millions more into the district, Nicole and her team outworked their opponent at every step.

In a race that is ultimately expected to be decided by ten to fifteen thousand votes, the Conservative Party is approaching nearly 11,000 votes in the district.

Congratulations Congresswoman-elect Nicole Malliotakis!

Mario Cuomo: The Myth and The Man by George Marlin

George J. Marlin sets the record straight on Mario Cuomo.

In the book, Marlin traces Cuomo’s political rise and documents how and why he abandoned his public opposition to abortion to be elected New York’s chief executive.

Marlin describes the protracted conflict between Cuomo and his church on abortion and refutes the governor’s claim that his “position on abortion is absolutely theologically sound.”

He critiques Cuomo’s famous 1984 Democratic convention speech as nothing more than the usual high-toned partisan liberal bromides that offered little, if anything, that hadn’t been touted by his party for half a century.

The book also uncovers New York State’s fiscal, economic, and social decline during Cuomo’s 12 years as governor. It explains why voters repudiated Cuomo’s version of a welfare state when he sought a fourth term in 1994 and why, in the words of his son, Governor Andrew Cuomo, his father was “more accomplished as a speech-giver than as a governor.”

Next week our email list will be sent more information on how to get a signed copy directly from the Conservative Party.

King Cuomo Cancels Thanksgiving

Andrew Cuomo has limited gatherings to no more than 10 people. No, not in restaurants, not in bars or taverns, not in catering halls. He has put a limit on how many people you can have in your own personal residence.

“I’ll be having more than 10 ppl at my house on Thanksgiving,” Staten Island Councilman Joe Borelli said in a tweet Wednesday. “Some family will come from (gasp!) New Jersey. Kids will see their grandparents, cousins will play in the yard, sis in law will bring strawberry rhubarb pie, & a turkey will be overcooked” he continued.

This new mandate from the Governor was issued along with ordering bars and restaurants to be closed by 10pm starting tonight and ordering all gyms closed.

Beyond attempting to put ridiculous restrictions on how many family members you can have over for the Holidays, the Governor seems hell bent on ensuring hundreds of more businesses shutter their doors for good throughout New York City.

The Governor remains drunk on power and completely unapologetic for contributing to the deaths of thousands and thousands of senior citizens.
