Weekly Wrap-Up

Will Hillary run again in 2020? We can’t trust her answer to this question, but Hillary still wants to be President – maybe she thinks the third time will be a charm.

President Trump, of course, loves the idea of a rematch against Hillary. I can see his campaign slogan now: “Make Hillary Lose Again!”

What would be the craziest part about a Hillary 2020 presidential campaign? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll – and I think the word “craziest” gives us a lot of leeway in the answers.

Marc Molinaro and Chele Farley both picked up key endorsements this week from the New York Post, as Andrew Cuomo continues to chicken out.

For the midterm elections, the question for voters should be: “Are you better off than you were two years ago?”  Knowing the answer for most Americans is a resounding YES, the Democrats are sinking deeper into the gutter as they try to take back the U.S. House of Representatives.

Perry Gershon’s despicable mailer attacking conservative Lee Zeldin is the most recent example – make no mistake, it’s Democrats who are the extremists… and the media are their enablers.

Once all the votes are counted, President Trump will still have a job to do, no matter who controls Congress.  Taxes, the economy, health care and a host of other issues will be in play. What do you think President Trump’s top priority should be after the midterm elections? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

With the migrant caravan – a foreign-financed, leftist-led violation of U.S. sovereignty – charging our border, immigration will have to be a major post-election focus for the Trump Administration.

Fortunately, we have a President who is not afraid to tackle this issue, as we saw in this week’s new debate over birthright citizenship.

According to one expert, “The president is correct when he says that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution does not require universal birthright citizenship.”  And as I said this week, we are the best and most generous country in the entire world, and if we want to continue that we have to have control of who’s coming into our nation.

There are many reasons why birthright citizenship is problematic – it’s open to abuse, it makes a mockery of our system of legal immigration… the list goes on.

I’ll make this the third question in our new Weekly Poll: What do you believe is the WORST aspect of birthright citizenship? I look forward to your answers.

Have a great weekend – and remember to vote Line C on Tuesday!

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week, in the only debate Andrew Cuomo would agree to (he can’t be bothered with upstate issues), conservative Marc Molinaro stood his ground against the Cuomo machine’s bullying tactics.

The case against Cuomo is strong, and Molinaro made some great points – which of his debate statements is your favorite? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Meanwhile Barack Obama is “making stuff up” about the Trump economic boom, which you may recall our 44th president said was impossible.  Obama said that we’d need a “magic wand” to jumpstart the U.S. economy, but his economic incompetence is being exposed by President Trump.

What do you think is really the key to the Trump boom – lower taxes? Deregulation? Job creation? Better trade deals? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

The left has no substantive ideas beyond recycling socialism and bigger government – so of course they’re trying to change the subject by blaming President Trump for this week’s bomb scares, even as liberal politicians and the media have ignored actual violence against conservatives.

And then there’s the “caravan” – but let’s call it what it really is, an invasion. Talk about election meddling – who is funding this spectacle? Fortunately we have a President who actually believes that America and our borders are worth defending

How concerned are you about this new threat to America’s sovereignty and security? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

President Trump is taking the fight to his enemies with a historic media blitz – and he’s apparently having a lot of fun doing it.

You could see that in his one-on-one with Lesley Stahl of “60 Minutes” this past Sunday, as he laid out his accomplishments: “When you look at taxes, you look at regulations, you look at– making deals with other countries. Nobody’s been able to do anything like this. Actually, most people didn’t even try because they knew they didn’t have the ability to do it.”

President Trump touched on several issues, including the media, the Russia investigation, NATO, and illegal immigration. I’ve picked out some of my favorite quotes – which one do you like the most? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Meanwhile the Democrats continue to encourage and actually resort to violence (plus some unhinged conspiracy theories) in response to President Trump’s success. There’s a War on Women going on – not even 9/11 widows are safe from the fury of the left – and Nancy Pelosi thinks that’s just fine.

On the campaign trail, the Democrats’ Senate candidates have had quite a week.

  • In Virginia, Sen. Tim Kaine encouraged the liberals’ mob mentality

  • In North Dakota, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp’s campaign outed sexual assault victims…

  • In Missouri, Sen. Claire McCaskill demanded a government investigation of journalists…

  • In Delaware, Sen. Tom Carper is being less-than-truthful about a history of spousal abuse…

  • In Massachusetts, Sen. Elizabeth Warren made a fool of herself trying to prove her Native American heritage…

  • In Montana, Sen. Jon Tester is palling around with Hollywood celebrities

  • In Florida, Sen. Bill Nelson is prioritizing his campaign over the state’s hurricane relief;

  • In New Jersey, the ethically-challenged Sen. Robert Menendez is turning to Hillary Clinton for help…

  • In Arizona, leftist Krysten Sinema has a history of bashing her own state…

  • In Tennessee, Phil Bredesen’s campaign was caught telling the truth about the candidate’s Kavanaugh stand in an undercover sting…

  • And in Texas, media darling Beto O’Rourke is supporting impeachment

No wonder Rush Limbaugh is predicting GOP gains in the Senate and even success in House races. President Trump has certainly energized individuals to get involved.

I know most friends of the Conservative Party follow politics across the country. Which Democrat Senate candidate outside of New York do you like the LEAST in this year’s campaigns? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

Here in New York, as we’ve mentioned this week, Andrew Cuomo is rightfully being labeled a “coward” for refusing to debate Marc Molinaro.

Why do you think that is – does Andrew not want to face questions about all the “coincidental” corruption in the Albany Swamp? Does he want to avoid tricky issues like marijuana legalization? Or does the governor think he’s above the law and those above answering questions?

That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – let me know what you think, and have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

“Someone is going to be killed” – that’s the stark warning this week from Sen. Rand Paul after Democrats ratcheted up their violent rhetoric and mob mentality.

Keep in mind that even before the Kavanaugh debacle, Republicans have been shot, assaulted, harassed in restaurants and stalked at their homes – and amazingly, Democrats think that their main flaw is that they’re not ruthless enough!

Hillary Clinton is of course jumping on this dangerous bandwagon, telling liberals what they want to hear about how Republicans don’t deserve civility.

What scares you the most about the Democrats’ mob politics? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

The media is also aiding and abetting the liberals’ violent behavior while downplaying the tactics that put lives in jeopardy. Remember when peaceful Tea Party protesters were described as a “mob” by biased journalists? Now liberal rioters are being cast as “people who are upset” – and media commentators are actively encouraging violence.

Trump-hatred and fake news are just par for the course after the media’s shameful, dishonest coverage of the Kavanaugh confirmation fight.

In your opinion, how bad was the media’s bias during the Kavanaugh saga? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

With the midterm elections coming up, we’re seeing evidence that the Democrats’ mob politics are backfiring and that their “blue wave” is drying up. And with states under liberal rule suffering the most (we know that firsthand here in New York), it’s no surprise that Democrats won’t actually say what they’ll do if they are given control of Congress.

What do you think is the most important reason for conservatives to get out and vote in this year’s elections? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Never write-off New York – Marc Molinaro “could make the election a real horse race or pull off an upset victory,” George Martin writes.

What do you think is the BEST reason to vote for Marc Molinaro and against Andrew Cuomo?

That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll – and there are plenty of great reasons to vote Conservative this November!

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has earned a pink slip, too – the new “Gillibrand Standard,” by which mere accusations are all it takes to find someone guilty is an affront to fairness and the rule of law. She should also be judged by the company she keeps.

What is your TOP reason to vote for Chele Farley and against Kirsten Gillibrand? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

Kirsten Gillibrand and the Democrats have moved on to Plan C in their plot to destroy Judge Brett Kavanaugh – a desperate attempt to brand him as an over-emotional liar. Rich Lowry destroys the liberals’ insanity here, and thankfully some Republicans are actually fighting the Democrats’ fire with fire.

And over-emotional? Judge Kavanaugh’s anger is entirely justified.

I am angry that Democrats have turned our government into a circus or, even worse, a college campus. What word best describes your reaction to this debacle? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – I’ve left out a few choice words that I know many of us feel, but you still have plenty of options.

As this week draws to a close, there is only one option for the U.S. Senate: Confirm Kavanaugh.

I look forward to calling this outstanding judge Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Until then, have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

“Andrew Cuomo was sentenced today — he just doesn’t have to do the time,” said Marc Molinaro of the punishment handed down for Andrew Cuomo’s brother-from-another-mother, best friend, right-hand man and confidante Joe Percoco, who we are expected to believe acted without the knowledge or approval of the governor he served.

As the New York Post puts it, “If the gov’s telling the truth, that he had no idea what his aide was up to, then it just shows how little Cuomo cares about monitoring such behavior — and about Albany’s pay-to-play sleaze in general.”

Here are the first two questions in our new Weekly Poll, both inspired by all this Cuomo/Percoco corruption:

1. Do you think Joe Percoco’s six-year sentence is fair and adequate?

2. How much do you think Andrew Cuomo knew about Percoco’s corrupt actions?

I look forward to seeing what you think about this sordid mess.

Talk about chutzpah – the Percoco family wants to keep some of their ill-gotten gains, which Joe liked to describe as “ziti” in a reference to “The Sopranos” – tellingly, a popular TV show about the mafia. What TV or movie title do you think best describes his situation now? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – have some fun with it!

It seems like the only other news story this week was the outrageous treatment of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and these proceedings send a clear message to all conservatives: “We will do whatever it takes to destroy you.”

Our very own Kirsten Gillibrand managed to make a fool of herself in just ten seconds, echoing the Democrats’ new stand firmly against the presumption of innocence.

Democrats and the media will exploit this situation all the way to Election Day. It may be great for their fundraising, but it’s bad for our nation.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Andrew Cuomo has managed to keep his grip on power after defeating Cynthia Nixon by a wide margin. What do you think is the MAIN reason that Cuomo won the primary battle? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

As Cuomo finds scapegoats for his primary campaign attacks, the gloves came off some time ago for the general election, as Cuomo the “classless buffoon” has already attacked conservative Marc Molinaro and his pregnant wife.

As Marc Molinaro focuses on the issues, what do you think he should highlight as the most important challenge facing New York right now? That’s our second Weekly Poll question, and there are plenty of answers to choose from, including taxes, public safety and of course (since we’re talking about Cuomo) corruption.

Marc Molinaro knows he’s in for a tough fight – but it’s worth fighting for the future of our state. What do you think is the WORST thing that will happen if Andrew Cuomo powers himself into another term? That’s the third and final question for our new Weekly Poll.

On to national matters – we’re seeing more and more evidence of collusion in the 2016 presidential race… just not between President Trump and Russia, as the left has fantasized.

Hillary Clinton’s loss brought Google to tears – more proof that big tech cannot be trusted to give conservatives a fair shake.

Barack Obama can say whatever he wants, but this is definitely NOT his economic recovery. It’s President Trump’s actions that have set the stage for the current boom.

And Kirsten Gillibrand can say whatever she wants, but she has quite literally called for the abolition of ICE.

Calls for violence against Republicans and Conservatives are intensifying, and actual attacks are taking place – but the Democrats and the media say nothing.

This week we marked the 17th anniversary of 9/11 – New York City continues to remember, and to rebuild.

I hope you will have a wonderful weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

With this week’s Brett Kavanaugh hearings, Democrats in Washington have reached a new low, if that’s possible. Conspiracy theories, double standards, desperate stunts – it is “sick,” as President Trump has noted. “Pathetic,” to quote the Daily Wire. A “circus,” in the words of Senator Orrin Hatch.

There is much shame and blame to go around – from old guard Democrats like Patrick Leahy of Vermont, Diane Feinstein of California and Richard Blumenthal, our neighbor in Connecticut, to New York’s very own Chuck Schumer (who never misses a chance to shut down the Senate) and Kirsten Gillibrand (who, like Senator Feinstein, goes with the tired claim that people will die if Democrats don’t get their way) – as well as Lisa Murkowski, the abortion-obsessed Senator from Alaska who just happens to be a Republican.

And then there’s the grandstanding Kamala Harris of California, who has no use for “that book” Judge Kavanaugh carries (i.e. the Constitution), and the melodramatic Corey Booker of New Jersey, who also doesn’t seem to understand the Constitution or the film Spartacus, for that matter, and who flaunted non-existent rules to show that Kavanaugh is in fact against racism.

In your opinion, who has been the most insufferable senator during the Brett Kavanaugh hearings? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Are the Democrats desperate to distract from the fact that the Trump Economy continues to boom? Makes sense to me.

Another distraction this week was Nike’s continued emulation of anti-American protester Colin Kaepernick, who doesn’t have a clue about what “sacrificing everything” really means but is nonetheless getting rich off the freedom he enjoys as an American. But Nike might ultimately stand to lose.

What would you say is the most offensive aspect of Nike’s Colin Kaepernick media campaign? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

Speaking of someone who stands to lose – Andrew Cuomo is plowing through his campaign funds (he’s great at spending other people’s money) to avoid an upset by Cynthia Nixon, as polls show a tightening race.

And he’s willing to put children in jeopardy to win – just look at his decision to allow registered sex offenders to vote at their local schools, in violation of the law.

Conservative candidate Marc Molinaro put out a strong statement, as did Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan – and of course, your Conservative Party had something to say about this as well.

What was your FIRST reaction to news that Andrew Cuomo is putting kids in danger by encouraging registered sex offenders to vote at their local schools? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

A highlight, if you will, of this week’s news cycle was the debate between Democrats Andrew Cuomo and Cynthia Nixon that was described as everything from “heated” (to exactly 76 degrees) to “a swordfight between two vacuous giants.”

The New York Post feels that Cuomo “completely flopped” in the debate, and even Bill de Blasio wasn’t impressed. I want to hear what you think – who would you say won the Cuomo/Nixon showdown? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

It’s a race to the bottom for the Democrats – obviously your Conservative Party is not taking a side in this ridiculous showdown. But if a liberal friend asked you, what would you say is the TOP reason for New York Democrats to choose Cynthia Nixon over Andrew Cuomo? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

One of my favorite parts of the debate was this exchange:

Cuomo: “Can you stop interrupting?”
Nixon: “Can you stop lying?”
Cuomo: “As soon as you do.”

That’s what the kids call a “self own” – can you imagine if a similar exchange had taken place between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump during one of their presidential debates? The media would have pounced on such an embarrassing gaffe from Trump, but Cuomo’s tacit admission of lying is virtually ignored by the “mainstream” media.

It’s been a week of double standards.  “If a pro-life gazillionaire were giving funds to state attorneys general to go after Planned Parenthood, the left would quite rightly go bonkers,” the New York Post smartly points out. But gazillionaires like Michael Bloomberg who push politically correct “green” policies are welcomed by the liberals and their media allies.

And local Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attacks Uber as complicit in the deaths of cab drivers – while her campaign often chooses the popular service over cabs.

And so it goes. The Labor Day weekend is here, and the Trump economy is being very good to working-class Americans.

Household income is increasing, blue-collar workers are more optimistic, unemployment rates have fallen, and Trump is keeping his promise to rework trade deals to America’s benefit.

Overall, what do you think is the BEST thing that President Trump has done for U.S. workers? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Finally, this week America lost a hero in John McCain. Prayers are going out to his entire family.

Here’s wishing you a pleasant Labor Day weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

As we’ve shared this week, Andrew Cuomo’s defense against accusations of corruption shows as much about his shady character as any actual misdeeds.

The New York Post said it best: “Stonewall, repress, rationalize, deflect, lash out: These are the defenses of someone who knows he has a huge corruption problem — but refuses to fix it.”

Philosopher David Hume once wrote, “The corruption of the best things gives rise to the worst” – and that’s a quote that comes to mind when I think of corruption in our great state.  There are many other familiar sayings and proverbs along these lines, such as “The fish rots from the head” or “Actions speak louder than words.” I’ve compiled some of these thoughts for the first question in our new Weekly Poll – let me know which one you believe BEST describes corruption in the Cuomo Administration.

Before Facebook comments and tweets, there were Letters to the Editor – still one of my favorite parts of the newspaper (which I still read the old-fashioned way!).  Here are some great reactions to Andrew Cuomo’s recent not-so-great remarks about America.

What was your IMMEDIATE reaction to Andrew Cuomo’s “America was never that great” anti-Trump diatribe? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

As one letter writer points out, America has been pretty great to the Cuomo family.  Like no other country, America provides hope, opportunity, security and prosperity to all who are willing to work for it.

So let me ask you this, as the third question in our new Weekly Poll: What would you say is the MAIN reason that America is in fact a great nation?

As I’ve said many times, Socialism is one of the biggest threats to America’s greatness, and it’s alarming that such a destructive ideology has now taken over the Democratic Party.

In our most recent Weekly Poll I asked you what message you would want to send to New York’s resident Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.  (Alas, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez does not seem particularly adept at receiving obvious messages.)

At any rate, one of the top vote-getters was “Stop trying to make America into the next Venezuela!” – showing just how much our blog readers understand the problem.

Socialism isn’t working in Venezuela, and its turmoil is spreading to other countries.
Millennials may love Socialism’s platitudes, but they would not be able to endure its realities

Let’s end this week’s Wrap-Up by looking at the reality of the Trump economy – talk about great! It continues to break records and build prosperity, and of course the news media continues to try to undermine this success and give all the credit to President Obama.

And the Democrats’ dreams of halting this progress through impeachment continue. We’ll see what the news brings us next week – until then, have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Rep. Nancy Pelosi says that voting for Democrats this November is the best way to give illegal aliens “leverage” in Congress. If you ask me, with lawmakers refusing to secure our borders and help President Trump build the wall, it looks like those who have snuck into our country illegally, and those who want to, already have plenty of “leverage” in Washington.

I can think of plenty of other groups who truly need “leverage” in Congress – seniors, working families, small business owners, the unborn. Which group do you believe is being ignored MOST by Nancy Pelosi and her friends on Capitol Hill? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Here is an alarming story: Authorities discovered a New Mexico compound linked to “extremist Muslims” where kids were being taught how to be school shooters. Eleven children were rescued – the remains of another were recovered.

This should be the story of the year, as Matt Walsh notes – but it doesn’t fit the left’s anti-Trump narrative, so it gets little attention. As Mr. Walsh puts it, “If the terrorists were Christian fundamentalists or white supremacists, you can bet the reaction would be quite a bit more explosive.”

It’s more proof that Trump-hatred has become an all-consuming virus on the left – we’re seeing that from the New York Democrats, of course – and especially with the mass media

I’ve often wondered why exactly journalists have so much hatred for President Trump – is it just because he’s a conservative? Does the fact that he beat Hillary Clinton make them especially angry? Or is it Trump voters the media elites really hate?

I’ll make this the second question of our new Weekly Poll – and I’m looking forward to learning what you think about the media’s Trump hatred.

The Democrats’ embrace of Socialism leads to another question, posed here by Investor’s Business Daily: Who knew free stuff could cost so much?

We talked last week about socialized health care’s $32 trillion price tag – New York’s resident Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a bizarre claim this week that this doesn’t factor in funeral costs for people who die because of… sorry, you’ll have to figure this one out on your own, it’s too ludicrous for me to follow.

Ms. Ocasio-Cortez made another questionable claim this week – that she receives heaps of supportive letters from Republicans who support her agenda.

It’s not outside the realm of possibility – there are economically-illiterate Republicans, of course – but it definitely inspired the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll: If you sent a letter to our state’s reining Socialist, what would be the most important thing you’d want to say?

That’s it for this week – have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Almost 97% of respondents in our most recent Weekly Poll said that the U.S. economy will continue to surge under President Trump, and new figures this week bear that out.

We’re in the longest period of sustained job growth in history. Unemployment is below 4 percent – in fact, we’re at record levels of employment. Manufacturing jobs are increasing.

For our new Weekly Poll, I have a follow-up question of sorts: What do you think is the MOST IMPORTANT economic indicator for middle-class Americans? I look forward to seeing your answers – our Wrap-Up readers are a pretty smart group!

The 2017 Trump tax cuts have been one of the main catalysts for economic growth – but unfortunately much of this tax relief (especially reductions for middle-class families and small businesses) are only temporary.

There are growing calls to make this tax relief permanent – what do you think is the BEST reason to do so? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

Democrats not only want to undo President Trump’s tax cuts, they want to ramp up spending to the tune of $32 trillion with their hairbrained “Medicare for All” socialized health care plan.

Of course Kirsten Gillibrand is on board – she’s always eager to jump on any leftist bandwagon. If she and Bernie Sanders get their way, the government would actively ration health care, sabotage workers, and drive up taxes beyond anyone’s worst fears.

What word do you think BEST describes the “Medicare for All” proposed by the left? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll.

Not a great week for Andrew Cuomo: His hypocrisy is showing in his rush to embrace Catholic teachings that are politically convenient. Cuomo’s corruption is clear in his use and abuse of our tax dollars for his reelection campaign, and his fiscal irresponsibility is sparking congressional action. And this week we saw more proof that his economic schemes are bad for everyone.

Let’s end on a happy note: Republicans “took a knee” at this week’s Trump rally in Florida – but for all the right reasons.

Have a great weekend!
