Weekly Wrap-Up

“I really do hope there is a trial in this case so New Yorkers can see, in gory detail, what their state government has been up to,” said U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara as he announced massive corruption charges against Andrew Cuomo’s top aides and allies

I couldn’t agree more – Cuomo’s SolarCity “monument to corruption” needs to be completely exposed for the rotten-to-the-core enterprise it is. Cuomo vowed to clean up Albany – but in reality, his cronies have made out like bandits

What do you think will be the end result of these charges – plea bargains, actual trials… or do you think Cuomo’s cronies will get off scot-free? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

Cuomo himself hasn’t been charged, but he’d have to have his head in the sand or just be dangerously naïve to not know what his closest associates were up to. What’s your take – do you think Cuomo is ultimately responsible for all the corruption surrounding him in Albany?
That’s the second question in our Weekly Poll.

And finally, what do you think is the BEST way to start ridding Albany of this endless corruption?  Do we need a new Governor? Term limits? More investigations? Do you think Albany can police itself? Let me know in the third and final question of this week’s Poll.

These are corrupt times we’re living in – here in New York and of course in Washington.

We have a President who is dead set on exploiting our badly broken immigration system to bring in people who will be Democratic voters, not Americans, first.

We have public officials who are too obsessed with political correctness (and hatred of Donald Trump) to take meaningful steps to keep people safe.

We have a President too blinded by ideology to see the terrorist threats facing America.

And of course we have Hillary Clinton, who is embroiled in endless scandal.

I’m looking forward to seeing Donald Trump raise these issues in next week’s presidential debate. Here is a “cheat sheet” from Rich Lowry – and I’m sure next week’s poll questions will focus on each candidate’s performance and the overall impact of this showdown.

Have a great weekend!

Everything you need to know about the presidential debate

A group advocating the rights of veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan are on the Hill this week to press lawmakers on issues ranging from disability care to high rates of unemployment.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the largest organization for veterans of the wars, will host a series of events as a part of their Storm the Hill campaign this week, culminating in Thursday’s release of their legislative agenda for 2010.

Top priorities include improving the claims processing system for disabled veterans, addressing the suicide epidemic among service members and improving the Veterans Affairs Department’s health care services for women.

This is the fifth annual trip for the group, which was founded in 2004. Starting Monday, the veterans will form teams named for the military alphabet — Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc. — and will meet with more than 100 lawmakers to discuss their issues.

The veterans were originally scheduled to meet with Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.), a Marine veteran of the Vietnam War, who died Monday.

Weekly Wrap-Up

This was an exciting week for the Conservative Party, as we welcomed Donald Trump to our 2016 Presidential Reception. His speech was wonderful – here is the full video.

What is your favorite quote from Donald Trump’s September 7 address to the Conservative Party?  I’ve featured the best ones in the first question of our new Weekly Poll – make your pick today!

Meanwhile the Democrats are begging for mercy – sounds like they are getting desperate.

How panicked do you think Democrats are right now as Hillary continues to face endless corruption and falling poll numbers? That’s question #2 in our Weekly Poll.

Talk about scandal – even though the FBI went easy on her, Hillary can’t avoid questions about her email shenanigans. Her bad press is well earned, says the Washington Examiner.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg – there’s the corrupt-to-the-core Clinton Foundation to think about, and Hillary’s unprecedented foreign financial entanglements.  Plus hypocrisy, and more hypocrisy… and then some more hypocrisy, this time from Bill Clinton.

Meanwhile the Trump campaign continues to showcase what a great candidate Republicans have at the top of the ticket.

Right now, what do you think is the BEST reason to vote for Donald Trump? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – I look forward to seeing what everyone has to say.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Bleachbit” – it’s a company you may not have been familiar with, but thanks to Trey Gowdy we now know that it is a “deep-cleaning” tech program that annihilates emails for those with things to hide. Is this why Hillary is so sure there are no more damaging emails to be discovered?

What do you think is the most shocking item that might be found in the deleted State Department emails that Hillary Clinton is so desperate to hide?

That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll – I hope you’ll vote today.

The Clinton Foundation was corrupt to its core as Hillary took over the State Department, and she knew it

Looking back at the long history of Clinton corruption, you’ll recall that contributions to the Clinton Foundation have come from deep-pocketed left-wing donors, companies and organizations with ties to foreign nations, despots and dictators, international criminals, media outlets, and large corporations

Which of these groups do you think has benefited the most from Clinton Foundation corruption?  That’s our second Poll question for this week.

Meanwhile, thanks to all the Clinton corruption Hillary is forcing voters to sort through, other key issues are being ignored – from growing deficits and a ballooning national debt to Obamacare’s death spiral, and the cruel impact of illegal immigration.

Which campaign issue would you like to see covered more extensively by the national media? That’s the third and final question in our Weekly Poll.

I’ve been talking lately about double standards for liberals and conservatives, such as the laughable way that the media has excused President Obama’s shameful (non-)response to the Louisiana floods.

Time to add some more hypocrisy to the pile – this time, it’s the bizarre media blackout of hacked George Soros documents. The left-wing billionaire’s anti-Israel crusade, his pro-abortion zealotry and his efforts to hijack global politics are huge stories – just not to the big media outlets.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

The Clinton Cartel now swears that if Hillary is elected to the White House, the Clinton Foundation will no longer accept foreign or corporate donations. I for one have the same question as Republican Party chairman Reince Priebus: “If everything was above board while Hillary Clinton ran the State Department as the Clintons have said, then why change a thing?”

What do you think of Hillary’s Clinton Foundation promise – is it too little, too late? Does it show that Clinton Corp. is starting to worry about this scandal? Or do Bill and Hillary have their fingers crossed? That’s the first question in our new Poll.

Hillary Clinton – Perjurer-in-Chief? That’s what Congress is trying to determine with new hearings into whether Hillary lied through her teeth about her email incompetence during recent hearings. Is it any wonder that Team Clinton appears to have never completed ethics training, according to State Department records?

I don’t know if there’s enough ethics training in the world to help the Clintons – but what other training courses do you think Hillary should sign up for if she hopes to be President?

Vote for your favorite today in our new Poll.

This week we saw Donald Trump exemplify true leadership in showing solidarity with flood victims in Louisiana – while President Obama continues to show heartless apathy, going AWOL as a state suffers.

This is the same Obama who accused President Bush of “unconscionable ineptitude” in his handling of Hurricane Katrina – “ineptitude” that involved caring enough to actually survey the damage and try to help.

What a perfect example of the media double-standard I talked about in last week’s Wrap-Up.

This week we also saw a new direction from Mr. Trump, as he apologized for the tone of some of his previous comments and laid out his vision for a “New American Future” that is now the theme of his campaign (and in the process, exposed the Democrats’ bigotry toward African-Americans and other minorities).

This speech followed Monday’s outstanding national security address focused on fighting terrorism and protecting America, which is being described as “a presidential address.”

I am looking forward to similar addresses from Mr. Trump. Of the two he delivered this week, which one do you believe is the most powerful? I’ve made that the third and final question in the new Weekly Poll.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

This week the media’s double standard for Donald Trump was revved up to seemingly new heights – from practically ignoring Hillary Clinton’s repulsive supporters (Trump is held accountable for any nut job who claims to support him) to deliberately taking Trump’s words out of context

Increasingly the “mainstream” media is a mere parody of itself.

I’ve made this the subject of our new Weekly Poll: How much of a double-standard do you see in the media’s coverage of Hillary Clinton compared to Donald Trump? What do you see as the media’s worst tactic when it comes to vilifying Donald Trump? And which media outlet do you believe is the WORST when it comes to unfair coverage of Donald Trump?

I look forward to seeing what people have to say.

More Clinton hypocrisy: Hillary’s not always opposed to walls to protect important land – when it comes to keeping outsiders away from her personal property, no wall is too big.

Of course, a hefty donation to the Clinton Foundation would likely allow almost anyone to gain access to the Clinton Estate.

It’s another disgraceful move by the Obama Department of Justice: Hillary Clinton once again gets a pass on her blatant corruption (this time it’s her pay-to-play abuse of the State Department and the Clinton Foundation – it’s hard to keep track of all the scandals, I know).

The FBI wanted an investigation. Obama’s political team – I mean, the DOJ said no.

Investor’s Business Daily shares the 44 new Clinton lies uncovered this week – that’s the number of Clinton emails unearthed from an account Hillary said she wasn’t using.

Another day, another scandal – there seems to be no limit to Clinton corruption.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

If you like your health care plan you can keep it, the Benghazi attacks were inspired by a YouTube video… and now, the U.S. did NOT pay a $400 million ransom to Iran for the release of U.S. hostages.

It’s the latest lie from the Obama Administration – about something that endangers Americans everywhere.

Not a ransom? Even Obama’s IRS wouldn’t believe a whopper like that.

As Mike Pence says, the whole world knows the handout to Iran was a ransom payment – if it wasn’t, why keep it a secret

And now we learn how Iran spent its ransom windfall.

I’ve made this Iran payoff the theme of our new Weekly Poll: How would you describe President Obama’s “not-a-ransom” claim? What do you think will be the most damaging result of this payoff?  Do you believe this is the worst lie President Obama has told? (As you know, there’s plenty of competition.)

Vote today – the answers on this topic should be very interesting.

Just as the ransom payment to Iran isn’t really a ransom payment, this payoff to the Clinton Foundation by a group that pushes Sharia Law isn’t really outrageous.

This week we learned specifically how much damage Hillary will do to our economy – “Hillarynomics” will increase the deficit by $2.2 trillion and spend three times the revenues coming in – and by the way, America will be bankrupt

No wonder Hillary is (accidentally?) saying that she will raise taxes on the middle class.

We can’t afford any more “big ideas” from the left – Obamacare’s failure is proof of that.

Finally, here in New York, our friend John Faso is doing his best to run a principled, responsible campaign in the midst of left-wing extremism.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Hillary Clinton is now the Democrats’ presidential nominee, but her acceptance speech was little more than an uninspired liberal wish list. Or, as John Podhoretz says, “Hillary blew it.”

Do you want to listen to Hillary Clinton for four years?” That’s what the Washington Examiner asks of voters. My answer is a resounding “no.”

Hillary says this election is “a moment of reckoning” – I think we can all agree on that – but Charles Krauthammer notes that there’s no substance when it comes to the Clinton campaign.
“She seeks the office because, well, it’s the next — the final — step on the ladder,” he states.

Hillary certainly can’t run on her Senate accomplishments (well, accomplishment is more like it) – and the Democrats’ claims that she saved millions of lives doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.

Republican Donald Trump had quite a bit to say during Hillary’s speech, as I’m sure you can imagine. He let loose with a series of blistering tweets that brought a dose of reality to the Democrats’ convention.

One of my favorites was: “No one has worse judgement than Hillary Clinton — corruption and devastation follows her wherever she goes.” There are plenty more – which of Trump’s comments was your favorite? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

For a sweeping indictment of Hillary Clinton and all the corruption she represents, I urge you to check out the documentary “Clinton Cash,” which you can watch free at Breitbart.com.

As a voters, what do you think is the most important reason to watch a film like “Clinton Cash?” That’s the second question in this week’s poll – I know that Conservative Party friends and supporters stay informed, so I’m interested to see what you have to say.

In his Wednesday night speech, President Obama painted a far rosier picture than most U.S. voters see – leading Investor’s Business Daily to ask Americans, “Are you better off than you were seven years ago?

I think that’s a great inspiration for the third Poll question this week, with a slightly different spin: Just how much worse off is our nation, in your opinion, after seven years of Obama?

News like this is very much not what Hillary and the Democrats want to hear as they fight to replace “Obamanomics” with an exact replica, “Hillarynomics.”

There’s bad news just for liberals, too: As Democrats have no established themselves as “the party of safe socialism,” according to Rich Lowry – but Bernie Sanders’ supporters aren’t buying it, and neither are millennials, it seems.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Donald Trump is officially the Republican presidential nominee, leading the party with a rousing acceptance speech that could mark the start of an American revival.

According to the New York Post, Trump faced his biggest challenge on Thursday night – and he nailed it.

Rather than link to various articles this week, I have pulled together what I believe are some of the most powerful statements from Donald Trump’s acceptance speech. I found his words to be inspiring and energizing. The full text is here. To me, the highlights include:

  • “Every day I wake up determined to deliver a better life for the people all across this nation that have been ignored, neglected and abandoned… people who work hard but no longer have a voice. I am your voice.”

  • “The problems we face now — poverty and violence at home, war and destruction abroad — will last only as long as we continue relying on the same politicians who created them. A change in leadership is required to change these outcomes.”

  • “History is watching us now. It’s waiting to see if we will rise to the occasion, and if we will show the whole world that America is still free and independent and strong.”

  • “The irresponsible rhetoric of our President, who has used the pulpit of the presidency to divide us by race and color, has made America a more dangerous environment for everyone.”

  • “This is the legacy of Hillary Clinton: death, destruction and weakness. But Hillary Clinton’s legacy does not have to be America’s legacy.”

  • “Big business, elite media and major donors are lining up behind the campaign of my opponent because they know she will keep our rigged system in place… She is their puppet, and they pull the strings.”

  • “My opponent asks her supporters to recite a three-word loyalty pledge. It reads: ‘I’m With Her.’ I choose to recite a different pledge. My pledge reads: ‘I’m with you – the American people.'”

  • “The attacks on our police, and the terrorism in our cities, threaten our very way of life. Any politician who does not grasp this danger is not fit to lead our country.”

  • “We must immediately suspend immigration from any nation that has been compromised by terrorism until such time as proven vetting mechanisms have been put in place.”

  • “We are going to build a great border wall to stop illegal immigration, to stop the gangs and the violence, and to stop the drugs from pouring into our communities.”

Which of these statements was your favorite part of Donald Trump’s speech? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll – I have my personal favorite, and I’m looking forward to seeing if you and others agree!

I have two more poll questions for you this week, centered on the GOP convention: Which of the other speeches at the Republican Convention was your favorite? There are plenty to choose from, including speeches from the Trump family, Vice-President nominee Mike Pence, and many others.

And finally, after the Republican National Convention, are you more excited about voting for Donald Trump for President?

I know I am. Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

This has been a busy week, and we have lots of news to cover.

First and foremost, we pray once again for the people of France, who find themselves in a painfully familiar spot: in the terrorists’ crosshairs

This latest attack is shocking and barbaric but not necessarily surprising, the Daily Signal notes.

How will France and the West respond? As Amir Taheri writes in the New York Post, “President Hollande must admit that his nation, perhaps the whole democratic portion of the globe, is at war, a war over two mutually exclusive visions of the future.”

With terrorists once again flexing their muscles, what do you believe is the likelihood of another Islamic terror attack here at home in the next six months? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

I’m deeply concerned about America’s safety, and I’m interested to see what you think.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump has made it official – he has selected Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate.

Some conservatives are thrilled – others are concerned

What’s your initial take on Trump’s pick – are you generally happy with Mike Pence as the Republican vice-presidential nominee? That’s the second question in our Weekly Poll.

Some polls have the Democrats “freaked out” over their prospects for November.

Of course Hillary’s corruption doesn’t seem to bother the Democrats at all – and there’s plenty of it. As Investor’s Business Daily notes, the FBI may have exonerated Hillary, but the public has not.

Mayor de Blasio is proving himself so corrupt that he could be a perfect fit for a new Clinton Administration.

And then there’s this more subtle corruption: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is backtracking on her attacks against Donald Trump – attacks that call into question her credibility as an impartial jurist. The Post says Ginsburg’s regrets don’t cut it.

In this day and age, do you believe there’s any such thing as a truly impartial, unbiased Supreme Court justice? That’s the final Poll question for this week.

Finally, let’s not forget the damage that Divider-in-Chief Obama did to our nation with his horribly politicized speech at this week’s Dallas memorial service.

Here are five big lies in the President’s speech – and remember that Hillary’s response was just as dreadful. Both of these so-called leaders should take lessons from Dallas Police Chief David Brown.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Our Weekly Wrap-Up is a day early this week thanks to the July 4th holiday. With summer in full swing, what are you most grateful for as an American right now? That’s the first question in our new Weekly Poll.

The Republican Party’s “blue-collar heroes” are finding themselves in much agreement with Donald Trump and his supporters – and as I said this week Trump could be in a position to turn things around for the GOP here in New York. And this week’s victories by anti-establishment candidates is a good sign of what’s ahead.

This year’s election is important, because right now religious liberty, the right to life and the Second Amendment (along with due process) are just a few of the constitutional principles that are under assault by the Left as we celebrate the 4th of July. A bill that could let liberals trample free speech was just approved here in New York.

Which of our liberties do you believe is most threatened on this Independence Day? That’s the second question in our new Weekly Poll.

The new Benghazi report is out – you can read the full report here

The Washington Examiner has the nine biggest Benghazi committee discoveries.

It’s clear to anyone willing to take a reasonable look at the report that Hillary Clinton was part of a massive deception, and put her own ambitions above the law.

National Review says that what we now know about Benghazi deserves a reckoning. In a just world, the Benghazi debacle would have ended Hillary Clinton’s career

It’s funny to see Democrats griping about the price tag of the Benghazi investigation – who knew liberals were capable of worrying about how much government costs? If the Democrats are suddenly budget conscious, the Weekly Standard has a list of ten government spending sprees that cost more than the Benghazi investigation.

The NRA has released a powerful ad against Hillary Clinton, featuring a Benghazi hero.

The terrorist attacks continue worldwide, and the Obama Administration continues to prove that it is incapable of understanding the problem.

There were already calls for Attorney General Loretta Lynch to resign after her ridiculously naïve claim that “love” is the best weapon against terrorism – and now she has further undermined the integrity of the Department of Justice by holding a secret meeting with Bill Clinton as Hillary is under investigation by the FBI.

According to the Attorney General, Clinton went out of his way to wait for her arrival in Phoenix and make his way to her private jet simply to talk about grandchildren and golf. As Red State reports, the meeting is a violation of Department of Justice ethics regulations

Even Democrats are having a hard time defending this corruption.

What do you think Lynch and Clinton talked about in their secret meeting? That’s the third and final question in our new Weekly Poll – we had some fun with the answers, and I look forward to seeing everyone’s votes.

Have a great weekend!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Great Britain has voted to exit the European Union.  Some predict a great deal of trouble ahead, but others see June 23 as Britain’s “Independence Day.”

So what’s next? Like a cult, leaving the European Union isn’t as easy as it seems.

Many feel that the Brexit vote to remove Great Britain from the European Union, is a sign that voters everywhere are fed up with the status quo and want to take a stand against political elites who want to run people’s lives.  Do you agree?

That is the first of our three new Weekly Poll questions.  I hope you’ll vote today.

Now, back to the States…

This week we discovered that the left suddenly loves a government shutdown.  House Speaker Paul Ryan rightly labeled the Democrats’ 1960s-style protest a “publicity stunt,” but their grandstanding did give us a look at the liberals’ true intentions

Now on to presidential politics: “The Dirty Dozen” is a popular phrase rooted in pop culture, but to cover all of Hillary’s scandals it has to be expanded to “The Dirty TWO Dozen” – and still, the hits just keep coming and coming

Donald Trump gave a speech Wednesday detailing Hillary’s corruption and dishonesty – and in that speech, we can determine the Trump campaign’s five-part attack plan against Clinton, Inc. According to The Wall Street Journal, the specific points Trump is making include:

  • Hillary is the insider who represents a “rigged system.”
  • Hillary benefits personally from being an insider while those outside the system suffer.
  • Trade agreements illustrate how the insider-run system hurts average Americans.
  • Immigration added to trade policies creates an even bigger problem.
  • The American people can’t trust Hillary Clinton.

I like this take on Trump’s campaign strategy, and I want to see what you think. So here’s the second Weekly Poll question: Which part of Donald Trump’s five-point attack plan against Hillary Clinton do you think will resonate MOST with voters?

Byron York of the Washington Examiner urges everyone to not overlook the substance of Trump’s speech. The New York Post agrees wholeheartedly

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders says that he will vote for Hillary Clinton this November – even though he’s staying in the race. (Sanders is a pro at spending other people’s money.)

Here’s our third and final Weekly Pol question: Do you believe that Bernie Sanders’ socialist supporters will follow their candidate’s lead and throw their support behind Hillary Clinton and the liberal establishment?

Let me know what you think, and have a great weekend!
