The NY Post editorial points out that Gov. Hochul’s ‘no message’ agenda is really about her and is anything but “no message.”
Hochul: $35M set aside for bolstering New York abortion services. “The money, taken from a fund within the state Department of Health, is being drawn on in anticipation of an expected influx of women seeking abortion services in New York if abortion policy returns to state governments. “…Hochul announced $25 million would be used for abortion providers to expand their infrastructure and capacity. An additional $10 million would be used to boost security around the facilities, Hochul said.” Gov. Hochul’s plan disgraceful on so many counts. First and foremost, why is an expected influx of women seeking abortion services in New York, other than the fact that New York allows abortions right up to the moments before birth. It is shameful that New York would encourage non-New Yorkers to take advantage of New York’s law. Second, it is outrageous that pro-life New Yorkers tax dollars will be used to for such nefarious abortions. Thirdly, if the money is being taken from a fund within the state DOH, what was the original purpose of those funds? Since the money is being removed and provided to abortion providers to expand their infrastructure and capacity, the $35 million, obviously are expendable funds, so the question is what were they doing in the state DOH budget in the first place? Why can Governor Hochul, or for that matter, any NYS Governor, arbitrarily transfer tax dollars to placate their political impulses?
