New York has lost all touch with reality: An illegal immigrant, illegally behind the wheel of a car, illegally flees the scene of a crime after killing a 35-year-old Rockland County mother of three on Christmas Eve with a car he shouldn’t have been driving, and, then, after finally being arrested, he is released — without bail!

“How is that remotely possible?”

“The person who committed this horrendous crime, is by definition a risk of flight. Laws clearly mean nothing to him.  Isn’t that screamingly obvious?

New Yorkers should demand that cashless bail be repealed; it is utter madness, that the person who killed an innocent mother of three be released because the democrat controlled legislature passed cashless bail. ”

Cashless bail is not the only atrocity in the Criminal Justice Reform law that became effective on January 1, 2020. District Attorney David Soares ( elected with the backing of ultra-liberal George Soros recently said “I don’t know how I’m going to have these conversations with victims,” when it became law. Prosecutors will have just 15 days from the time of arraignment to hand over all evidence pertaining to a case – including victim and witness information including phone numbers and exact addresses. Under the law change, the court can also require crime scenes to remain unchanged so that defendants can be allowed to visit them. This will certainly have a chilling effect on witnesses and victims…giving criminals carte blanche to continue their nefarious ways.

This bill must be amended as one of the first acts the Legislature addresses this session.
