Statement on Non-Citizen-Voting Court of Appeals Victory from New York State Conservative Party Chairman Gerard Kassar

“In a major victory for common sense, the New York State Conservative Party and other clear-eyed plaintiffs just succeeded in their legal effort to prohibit non-citizen voting in New York City.  This historic 6-1 Court of Appeals decision is a win for every citizen of New York State. The fact that the case was overwhelmingly decided by a left-of-center court reflects on just how fundamental this suit was to U.S. democracy.

“The woke political left has tried to erase every distinction between citizens and foreigners in this country for decades. Their audacious attempt to add up 800,000 non-citizen voters to the New York City election rolls would have created a precedent for radical leftists nationwide. We shut that down today in, of all places, liberal New York. Maybe there’s some hope out there after all.”
