2025 Legislative Session
This past Tuesday and Wednesday, I had the pleasure of heading to Albany for the first day of legislative session with our Kings County Chairwoman Fran Vella-Marrone, and our Director of Operations Andrew Davis. We also were happy to attend the Swearing-In ceremony for our fantastic new Assembly and Senate members. I would like to congratulate Andrea Bailey (133rd A.D.), Paul Bologna (144th A.D.), Pat Chludzinski (143rd A.D.), Andrew Molitor (150th A.D.), Daniel Norber (16th A.D.), Joseph Sempolinski (148th A.D.), Kalman Yeger (41st A.D), Jaime Williams (59th A.D.) and State Senator Steve Chan (17th S.D). The Party and I are excited for them to hit the ground running and help us save New York!
Shut Down New York Reparations Committee Before it Wastes Another Nickel
New York’s divisive ‘Community Commission on Reparations Remedies’ has blown through most of its $5 million budget with zero to show for it. Now it wants more time — and another $5 million to waste. Shocker.
Virtue signaling Democrats controlling the State Legislature will almost certainly renew the Commission — at any cost — knowing full well, in advance, what its recommendations will be: wealth distribution, the same goal the political Left has had since Marx published The Communist Manifesto in 1848. Reparations are just the latest tactic, and New Yorkers aren’t falling for it. You can read the full press release here:
State Senate Republicans Blast Mismanaged MTA
Senate Republicans representing the Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island are spot on calling for the resignation or removal of MTA Chairman Janno Lieber following his dismissive comments about subway crime, which he claimed is “in people’s heads.” This is a summary of the legislators comments:
Steve Rhoads: Criticized Lieber’s detachment from working-class realities and called for Governor Hochul to act if Lieber does not resign.
Andrew Lanza: Urged Lieber to personally experience the transit system to understand riders’ concerns, citing horrific incidents.
Jack M. Martins: Highlighted the importance of law enforcement, fiscal responsibility, and opposition to congestion pricing.
Patricia Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick: Labeled Lieber’s comments as a betrayal of transit riders.
Steve Chan & Bill Weber: Emphasized widespread opposition to congestion pricing and its impact on everyday New Yorkers.
Rob Rolison: Voiced support for police and called Lieber’s remarks disrespectful to NYPD officers.
Anthony Palumbo: Stressed the need for prioritizing safety and affordability in 2025.
Dean Murray & Alexis Weik: Called for a financial control board to oversee the MTA due to fiscal mismanagement.
