Americans have had powerful disagreements on issues since the dawn of our republic, and we’ve largely managed to settle them with debate and elections rather than with violence. This incident is a worrisome outlier, and we are hopeful that its perpetrators will be caught and prosecuted under domestic terrorism laws. There is no place for political terrorism in this country.”
