Welfare
Welfare
The cycle of welfare dependency must be broken for the sake of the people trapped in the cycle and for the taxpayers who should not be forced to support able bodied people. The Congress and the President should take the lead from innovative state governments which have devised programs to put welfare recipients to work and encourage them to return to school. Able bodied people should be working, not wards of the government. Deadbeat parents should be forced to pay child support. Those who do not support their children should not receive any form of public assistance.
